This is the first time I have ever posted on this portion of the DIS.

I was diagnosed as having diabetes type II , 2 years ago. I control it very well with diet, but lately it's getting hard to regulate, (i'm getting lite headed, blurry vision, etc.) I was told about a really great doctor's office in my city that treats conditions with intensive diet, supplements and the such, and I am giving it a try. I am willing to try anything before I have to take insulin.

So I went today for the fasting bloodwork, and there was a new nurse first thing in the morning. She couldn't find a vein, and after sticking me in 3 different places (I hate needles:scared1:), I kind of hurt her feelings, but I told her that I was going to go to the Lab. at the hospital where they know what they are doing. I felt bad, but I'm all bruised up now.

Just wanted to share that with you, dont know why, but I am looking forward to getting the results and getting it under control.

Hope that you can get things moving in a good way for you. Sorry about the vein sticking issue. DH goes through that most times when they need to poke him. He always looks awful when they finish with things.

Let us know how you progress and what your new doc suggests. I'd be interested.

:welcome: to WISH!!

how did your results turn out? feeling better i hope!

good luck to you...I'm on meds for D/2, but one of my doctors suggested I start taking cinnamon capsules (started about ONE week ago), and it's all ready dropped my averages by a good 20 points!

if this keeps up, and my next a1c comes back improved as well - i'm hoping to stop the meds, and keep the cinnamon

I hope you find your answers

Just an update. I went to a Cardiologist yesterday. He seems to think, with talking to my primary phys. that the problems I am having are not related to diabetes. They did an EKG and a ultrasound of my heart, and the main artery to the left side of my heart is enlarged and there is a defect in one of the valves in my heart. :scared1: This is what is causing my unexplained weight gain, fatigue, dizziness, swelling of ankles, varicose veins. They put me on a heart monitor last night, as well as an oxygen sensor to check for sleep apnea. I just got back from the lab at the hospital where they drew 7 vials of blood, and I have a stress test Monday. Man oh Man, i hate getting old!! :rotfl2: Should have all tests results by Monday, and full disclosure Monday afternoon. We leave Tuesday for WDW, can you believe it!! I told my DW, 'If I have to die, let it just be after the WDW trip'. I can see the area where she slugged me getting bruised already:rotfl:.
