Awesome! We were planning to be there on that day -now we have some extra fun. DS is fascinated by Dia De Los Muertos. He'll be excited when I tell him.

Ok, I dont' know how many of you know or even care but i am really psyched that Disneylad has FINALLY decided to celebrate Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dia_de_los_muertos A Flickr friend of mine just informed me. See pictures on the link http://www.flickr.com/photos/andycastro/1464685194/ So now Am I not just going to MHT, but I think I may have to make a special trip to Disneyland to check out the D.D.L.M. celebrations.

That's really cool. I love the idea of celebrating the ancestors (& why not make it fun). Are they only going to celebrate it on 11/1 & 11/2? Or are they going to take it thru the weekend.

I'm not sure. I know the decorations are up right now. & have been since the beginning of the month. But I'm not sure if they will leave them up until Nov. 2nd...

I do! On both counts!

I love Day of the Dead art. I only wish they were doing a sugar skull activity (like the craft stuff they do at Woody's Roundup). I would totally participate in some of that.

We make sugar skulls in my house.. it's lots of fun, but really time cosuming. (can't spell)I hand them out to my friends. some of them don't understand. ... they look at me all puzzled. :rotfl: They should at least have coloring sheets or skeletons ...something... well i'll give them the benefit of the doubt, they may have something, I'll check it out when i go... :woohoo:

I was there last weekend and snapped some pictures.

These are at the entrance to Zocalo Restaurant:

When we were there on the 5th, they had a free face painting stand. I think there were 6 designs to pick from of various skulls. My 2 yo DD had fun getting her hand painted and looking at all the decorations. It looked like there might have been a stage area. I don't know if that is intentional or not.

The wonderful Mariachi Divas musical group has also been moved over from DCA to perform in that little Zocalo Park area of Frontierland at Disneryland, as part of the Dia De Los Muertos celebration, during HalloweenTime 2007.

Saturdays and Sundays: 4, 5, 6 and 7pm
Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays: 11:30am, 12:30, 1:30, 3, 4 and 5 pm.

That's also super cool.
:yay:
