What is the best way to get from DHS to Cape May and then back to the park? Did I hear something about a boat or did I just imagine that?

Also, for those of you who have been there, is Cape May worth the trip?

Thanks.

Yes you can go by boat from DHS to Beach Club (and back), you can walk it too, but the boat is nice. We have only eaten there for breakfast and LOVED it!

Thanks for the reply. Where do you find the boat? In all my visits to DHS, I've never noticed it.

Also, how much time do we need to allow to get there by boat?

As you exit the park, bear left, and you'll see the landing right ahead of you. It's maybe a 15-minute trip, and it'll deposit you right at the Yatch/Beach Club docks.

Cape May is one of the better Disney buffets, methinks. There isn't a whole lot of seafood - clams, mussels, peel-n-eat shrimp, and perhaps another fish item. Plenty of stuff for landlubbers like ribs, chicken, veggies, etc. A lot of folks rave about the desserts. Beyond the Oreo bonbons, the rest is just OK for me. Doesn't stop me from plowing through them, though.

I will say that we've had some of the best service for a buffet there of anywhere on property.

When you exit the park, the boat dock is to the left. There might be a sign as you exit, but I am not sure. It is not a very long ride, but the boat does go pretty slow and you may have to wait a few minutes. If you find yourself in a hurry I would walk. The walk is very pleasant and takes about 20 minutes at a leisurely pace. (sounds long, but it really isn't)

We like Cape May for dinner. There are lots of choices and seems to be something for everyone. It is also a nice "break" from the parks and the area around the YC/BC is beautiful.

The boat will make one stop at the Swan/Dolphin hotels prior to arriving at the Yacht/Beach Club. Factoring in the wait at DHS and at the Swan/Dolphin, walking can actually be faster as 3for Me indicated, but of course whether you ride or walk depends on your personal preference.

Dh and I take to boat over to Cape May every chance we get. Its a slow ride, making a few stops as mentioned before, but a relaxing part of the day. As for Cape May, it's our favorite buffet.:yay: Plenty to choose from and great service. Be sure to save room for the desserts!:goodvibes

Don't take the boat (from DHS to the Beach Club) if you tend to get motion sick. That boat made me more nauseous than some of the rides! :worried:

The boat ride is fine but it's just as fast to walk, if you enjoy walking. However, there is not much shade on the walk so depending on when you go, the walk can be somewhat warm.

I think Cape May is "okay". I'm not sure I'd travel there for a meal but we don't mind it when we are staying at YC/BC.
