DHS resort area dining questions

Hi everyone. I need some help with planning TS meals for our DHS days. I think I have read that you can take a boat from DHS to the Boardwalk and other resorts around it. If so, can someone tell me where you get on the boat at DHS and approximately how long it takes to get to the other resorts.

What are some of the restaurants you recommend in that area? I may be adding the dining plan on to my reservation so I am looking for 1 credit restaurants.

If I don't get Mama Melrose for Fantasmic Dining when we go - I might opt for this idea too.

That is just what I tried to do and the Mama Melrose Fantasmic package was not available. I think I could have gotten MM for lunch without the package but it really isn't someplace that I "want" to eat, it just seemed like a better value when you get the appetizer included.

My daughter wants to eat at Sci Fi which I can't get either. I'm not worrying about the value there, it's worth it because dd likes the idea of it. I had Sci Fi for lunch on another day but I had to cancel it because we had to switch some days around due to my mother and brother coming up from SW Florida for a couple of days and they don't want to go to DHS.

So, I will keep trying but thought I should come up with a back up plan.
I'm not really interested in any of the other restaurants in the park itself.

When you walk out of DHS, the boat dock will be to your left. Friendship boat rides to Epcot resorts take about 20 minutes, 25 minutes to get all the way to Epcot. The boats stop at S&D, BW, Y&BC and Epcot.

If you don't want to wait for the boat, there is a nice path that you can walk. Takes the same time or less than the boat ride.

Restaurants in the BW area include: Spoodles & ESPN zone at BW, Captains Grille at YC, Cape May Cafe & Beaches and Cream at BC.
