Ok, so I booked my DHS FP+ for 3/14 after I play 9 holes in the early morning. Then I heard that TSM would be shutdown for the entire day on 3/15. Now I wasn't planning on going on TSM anyway on 3/14 but when I heard that TSM was shutdown on 3/15 I immediately shifted my DHS FP+ from the 14th to the 15th figuring that with all of planned shutdowns going on at DHS anyway, the announcement of TSM being shutdown on the 15th will just about squash the crowds at DHS on the 15th and thus the 15th was a better day to visit DHS than the 14th. Do you concur ?

People might just go on the 15th anyway. I am. I had booked everything, ie ADRs, FP+, dessert party, for the 15th. My TSMM FP+ got switched to RNRC. We will be at DHS in the morning of our departure day, so we have another FP+ for that day. If I wanted to try to move things around now, it would probably be very difficult and just too much trouble.

I suspect it will be a better day crowd wise. I know that if we got word that TSM was down for just one day and had planned to do DHS that day, that we would change park days no matter what we had booked. If we had a dessert party booked for that night at DHS and I was really set on keeping it, we probably would spend the day at another park and then just hop over for that. The only thing that would keep us from changing days would be if we could not get a TSM FP+ for the day we wanted to switch to. We won't stand in line for an hour or more for TSM, so we don't ride it without FP+. Even if we had a must do ADR in another park on the new DHS day that we could not switch for another day, we would still probably just hop to and from DHS for that.

I seriously doubt that there is a TSMM FP+ to be had that week, except for maybe some weird times or for 1 or 2 people. We are also going on 3/20 and already have a TSMM FP+ for that day. I just checked. No times available for a party of 3 according to MDE. So, it's not as simple as you think.

Yep that is a spring break week, so I bet it is hard to get a TSM FP for any other day- especially now that everyone knows it will be closed 3/15. I know that is spring break in most districts in our state and in 2 of our surrounding states.

A lot of guests won't even know until they arrive at the park that TSM is down for the day.

I think in the old days with FP, most people wouldn't have a clue that TSM would be closed until they got there. With FP+ your park guests that are most interested in TSM will all have already booked FP+ and they will all know that it is close when the get the E-mail that their FP+ has been changed.

Plenty, plenty, plenty of people show up without FP+ already scheduled. I'm the person who explains it to them when they buy their one-day ticket from me. :)

Seriously, I get guests at Epcot regularly who don't know that Soarin is down for refurb.

The flip side to the lower crowd argument is where will all the people who would normally be waiting in line for TSM go? Since they're not in that line, they'll be in all the other lines making wait times all over the park longer than usual.
