DHS lunch: Sci-Fi or 50's Prime Time?

Can you do that? I was thinking of ordering milkshakes and appetizers, as I don't eat burgers and the rest of the entrees are pricey for lunch. Does anyone foresee a problem with that?

Not a problem at all for just shakes and appetizers. Lots of people have ADR's and just go for desserts and drinks.

We far prefer Sci-Fi to 50's. It may have been a bad day when we were at 50's, but we had to wait 45 minutes to get seated, waited forever for a waitress, she was new so she wasn't into the "schtick", the food was cold and tasted terrible, and it was just a bad all around experience.

On the other hand, we've eaten several times at Sci-Fi and never had a bad meal. Of course, you have to stick with the basics for a great meal - burgers, rings and milkshakes.

If you're looking for a good food, fun experience then 50's diner is for you. Sci-fi is a unique experience with an awesome atmosphere, but the food is by no means great. I've eaten there 3 times and been satisified with the food just once. Even a burger came out dry and almost inedible the last time.

I would say the kids you are taking would enjoy sci-fi more. I think the food is better at prime time though.

We have eaten at both and prefer Sci Fi. We love the environment and we actually thought the food was better, too.
We've only been to Prime Time once.. maybe we'll give it another chance some time.

We are in the minority of folks who just do not like Prime Time. We absolutely love Sci Fi and it is always one of the first ADR's that I make. I know there are a lot of mixed reviews on the food but the atmosphere is so neat and we have always had cool servers. Their milkshakes are wonderful too.
