Goal: short waits, see Disney Jr characters
Factors: 9am park opening, Late August, toddler loves Jake and Sofia, 7 year old happy to see them, but loves to see her brother happy.
Past trips done Hollywood and vine- not doing it this trip

Main concern: how long will the Jake and Sofia lines be? Get in line right away and end up waiting 30 minutes anyway. Aim for Jake or Sofia? 7 year old says both. Husband says whatever I think.

Option 1)
Fp toy story, star tours and frozen

Go wait for Sofia at 9. See her at 9:30.
Disney Jr show
See Jake
Fp for Toy Story, star tours
Lunch
Fp frozen
Back to hotel for nap time. Evening at different park. (Husband doesn't like dhs so half day for us)

Option 2)
Fp toy story, star tours and Disney jr

Go on great movie ride
Get in Jake line like 9:20?
*could send husband to Sofia line and he meets her with 7 dd. I stay with 2 ds and see Jake.
Fp for Disney Jr, Toy Story
Lunch
Fp star tours
Back to hotel for nap time.

I would go with option 1. It's nicer to stay together as a family and my 2 year old would not like Great Movie Ride at all.

I can't tell you how long lines would be, because we always do Hollywood and Vine, but you might be able to glean an idea from Kenny the Pirate. The only hesitation I have is being able to see Sofia and not missing the Disney Jr. show, I'm not sure what time it starts.

We met Sofia and Jake during spring break mid-day with minimal waits. I don't know if the M&G lines get long for them but we waited 10 mins max and I never saw really long lines during the day for them.

I have lots of the same issues, as I have a toddler who needs to meet Doc. I was planning to do the character meal with the Disney Jr. characters. Has that wrked out well for people with young Disney Jr. fans?

That's what we're doing.

My 3-year old loves Jake, and when we met him at DHS a couple of weeks ago, the wait was less than 5 minutes. That was about 5pm. I had a look and the lines for Doc and Sofia were longer, but only looked to be 15 minutes. I think you'll be fine no matter what.

If you can, i would suggest H&V breakfast or lunch. Meet doc, sophia, jake and handy manny all in one place. Food isn't fabulous, and i wouldn't want to waste a dinner on it, but we've never had a bad breakfast or lunch. To us, it's worth it to avoid 3 character lines. We've always gone in off seasons, but lines are always pretty long and they don't move fast. Just a thought.

Sorry...just realized you said you weren't doing this on this trip! Couldn't fin d a delete option :)

We went to Hollywood & Vine to meet them all in one place. DD4 loved all of the singing and dancing. DH and I didn't find the food or service to be bad at all and we had been worried after reading reviews. It was actually DH's favorite breakfast.
Our only complaint was a long check in line for our pre-opening reservation, but it moved quickly and we were seated on time because we had arrived a bit early.

Yes we've done it 3 times. It's wonderful and breakfast and lunch were both excellent.

We met Jake and Sophia back to back during the week of Christmas with minimal waits. Maybe 15 minutes because Jake had to take a break?? We had DD4 and DS1 and it was not a long, painful wait!

In December we did TSM at rope drop then went to the M&G and did Minnie, Doc, Jake and Sofia all in about 15 minutes total before the first Disney Jr show.

I would say the waits will probably be 15 min or less for them so no problem IMO!
