DHS dining options

Here is my situation: me, dh, dd9 and ds5 are going next week!!
We are on the dining plan and using 2 credits for CRT. So I planned 2 dhs days without TS meals. But now I am thinking of canceling TS - donald breakfast at AK since later that eveing we are going to DTD for Trex.
So where should I book at DHS for a TS or should I keep it CS only at DHS and not cancel AK breakfast? DHS choices for TS seem lame to me.
Any suggestions?

DHS has 2 of the BEST restaurants on WDW property!!! (at least in my opinion) 50's Primetime and Sci-Fi are both fantastically themed, fun restaurants with great food. The food is NOT gourmet but it is very good. Sci-Fi is one of the best themed places on property - my kids love it, it's also a nice quiet break because everyone is so busy watching the movie clips. Primetime can be a lot of fun if you get the right server, but it's a great place to eat even if your server is not into character. The fried chicken and Dad's brownie sundae are fantastic!!

I agree with PP. 50s is my favorite and Sci-Fi is DDs favorite. We have to eat at those on next trip!

I have to agree with the others; Sci-Fi or 50's PT have fun theming and if paying oop, they are reasonable priced(for Disney that is). As for cs, there is not a single cs in DHS where I would make a recommendation. In fact, IMHO(and most others) the worst cs you will encounter in all of WDW is located in DHS: ABC Commisary. My advice for this place, turn around and run from this place as fast as possible. It is that horrible.

I love the food at 50's PTC and hate the counter service options at DHS so I would try to get a meal at 50's. The servings are huge; you could possibly even share meals there if you were trying to save.

The Tusker breakfast at AK is one of my favorite meals at WDW so I can't bring myself to suggest cancelling that one.

I agree that 50's Prime Time and Sci Fi Drive-In are two wonderful TS restaurants. We love them both. And there's also the Brown Derby, which may be the finest restaurant in any park.

But, DHS does have good CS as well. The Backlot Express has your standard fare, but also has a grilled vegetable Panini that is excellent. The Studio Catering Company has really good Caesar Salads (along with the standard park fare). Rosie's has good burgers, and Catalina Eddie's has good deli sandwiches.

So, I can't answer your question, but wanted to offer a few suggestions.
