Fantasmic is every night of our vacation in August.

Will there still be a character meet-n-greet at 4:50 at DHS?:confused3

Good question - I'd like to know this myself...;)

Only if there is no F! before 7:30 or so. Late F!s do not impact the 'looza, early ones do.

The usual rule of thumb is that Characterpalooza happens on any day that there is not an early Fantasmic show. Since the shows right now are later in the evening, there will be a Characterpalooze on most days.

If there are two F! shows, then probably no Characterpalooza.

only on the nights where there isn't an early Fantasmic, and I believe the definition of "early" falls into the winter months when Fantasmic begins at 6:30pm some days because it's dark enough.

I would bet that if the early show is 8pm, there will still be Characterpalooza.

How long does Characterpalooza typically last? Does it always start at 4:50?

When it does happen, it is always at 4:50 +/- 5 minutes. Typically one set of randoms come out for 30 minutes, and are replaced by a second set for another 30 minutes. Often--but not always--the two sets will repeat one time each after that.

Sweet!! Thank you! I have a 4:15 FDP ADR at HBD so maybe there'll still be some characters there when we're done eating.

A group of random characters, some not available anywhere else in WDW, who appear regularly in the Animation Building. It is the same large multi-level room where Sorcerer Mickey, the Incredibles, and (currently) Pooh appear.

It is not advertised in any Disney publication that I know of, including the daily schedules available at the front of the park each morning. As a result, not many people know about it. It is a great way to meet a bunch of characters, some rarer than others, in a short amount of time with little wait.

The two groups mentioned above usually are comprised of about 6 characters each. While it is not unusual to see regulars like Pluto or Minnie there, we've run across the Queen of Hearts, the Tweedles, Jafar, Hook, Smee, Stitch, and the Snow Queen. Others have reported Mary Poppins, her penguins, and Pocohantas. I'm sure there's a few others I've missed. The catch is that you will not know who it will be until they come through the doors.

We'll be at DHS on 8/19 with an ADR at 5:55
They have Fantasmic at 9pm and 10:30pm - so I'm hoping they'll have the characterpallooza that night.

So if the only Fantasmic showing of the night is at 830pm, then character-palooza should happen?

Does anyone know if the other parks have a group of characters appear at a certain location during a certain time of the day (and also unadvertised in any Disney literature or guides) similar to Characterpalooza at DHS? Magic Kingdom use to have characters appear infrequently at the old teardrop area of Toontown but those days are gone.

I believe Epcot still does. I don't know it's schedule, or where exactly they appear. I think I've heard near the American Pavilion or International Gateway.

Has anyone ever seen Atta and Flik at this Characterpalooza? I've pretty much resigned myself to only seeing them in the DHS parade, but I may alter our schedule a bit if there's even a very, very slight chance of catching them at a M&G.

I saw Flik in AK in January. He was on the trail that's off the "hidden path" that runs behind the tree on Discovery Island.

Flik is now located in the Animal Kingdom across from Disney Outfitters store near It's Tough to be a Bug show. I have never seen Atta at the DHS Pop Up Surprise. Happy Hunting!
