Good morning! Since you are all such a creative bunch, I thought I would ask for a little help. I am trying to plan something special for my DH's 40th in February. I thought of a trip because he is NOT a party guy and because our last big trip, a cruise for the two of us, was cancelled last minute when our DD had emergency surgery. Because of school, babysitter issues, etc. I was thinking a long weekend trip for the entire family.
So, my first thought was a 3 night cruise. We have cruised and enjoy it. Well, I do anyway. ;) Kids would be entertained, wouldn't have to worry about food, it would be relaxing. Now that I have the quote and am ready to book, I am thinking that there might be another option. So, my question is does anyone have any great ideas for another trip option? We live in Asheville, NC and prefer warmer climates. Oh, BTW, I did look at Cancun, but the prices seemed a bit high.

TIA!

What are his interests? I love my kids but I am glad my husband didn't drag them along to my 40th surprise. ;)

My sis has a planned surprise party for her DH and his twin sister.
We are going to play paintball. The party will be outside in the cold.

Your idea sounds great!:thumbsup2

Gosh, interests......... He loves tennis and golf, but he has just had shoulder surgery, so those are not in the cards. I will say, the last two times that I "gave" him something that he was supposed to do on his own, it never happened. He somehow found an excuse to not go.
That said, I am planning on booking whatever trip I decide, arrange for him to be out of the office those days (his boss is in cahoots on this), and saying "Surprise, we're leaving tomorrow!"

What about Atlantis in the Bahamas? Or one of the All Inclusive Family resorts like Beaches?

But I like the cruise idea!

I looked at Atlantis, but $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$! OUCH!
As for the all-inclusives like Beaches, we are not Jamaica fans (won't ever go there again) and Turks and Caicos is out of the realm of possibility. Also, my neighbor just went to Beaches and let's just say it was not a great experience. Anyway, I did look at the all inclusives in Cancun, and it seems that it wouldn't save us any money, and actually might cost more. Of course, we wouldn't have to drive to Port Canaveral. Hmmmmm

I think the 3 day cruise is the best idea. :thumbsup2

I'll 1 second you! :headache:
