We got home from our vacation from NYC to find a message on our answering machine from one of DH's managers at work... they had a drawing for four roundtrip Air Tran tickets & he won!!! Now you have to understand that this NYC trip was going to be the last for a while... we've got to get out of some debt & have been to WDW 3 times in the last 4 years...but how can we pass this up?!? We don't have the details yet but I presume that we will have some time to redeem them (hopefully a year)... Anyway my first two trips were on a "budget", the last was not! I wish I'd known about the tix before the free dining package offer ended but I can't cry over 'spilt milk'.. I need to get back into the swing of things... What tix options do I have now? Lodging? I have no problem staying offsite (I'd consider a condo or villa but have no experience with those)... any help would be appreciated!

Congrats!!!!

I would see what the restrictions are on the tickets. Then I would wait to see what promos come out in the timeframe that would work best for you. I know that many of us are waiting to see what offers they come out with for the December value season. Hopefully, they will extend the free dining or offer something even better! :Pinkbounc

Wow that is so cool - I think I would also wait to find out how long you have to use the tickets etc and then go from there with either a promotion or maybe a time of year you want to go!

Have fun planning.

Note: Your husband, that is, your family, will have to pay income tax on the cash value of the tickets (this applies to all won prizes). Your husband's company will send him a report with their (the company's) valuation. Many tax accountants, and also I, suggest clipping newspaper ads with the fares available at the time you book, or doing print screens of the airline's fares at the time you book, and use those fares as the cash value for tax purposes instead.

Thanks for the tips.. especially about the taxes! I'm REALLY hoping they extend the dining package.. DH & DS15 eat me out of house & home!!

timeshare users group has classified ads where owners rent their timeshare week they will not be using. Some very nice 2 and even 3 bedroom units like Hilton and Marriott properties are easy to rent. We have done this many times. Stick with names you know for great properties. We rented some no names with less satisfaction, but still overall good value. congrats!(I never win anything ;) )
