Florida is actually the best state to get fresh seafood behind California being it has coasts on Both the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico however like all states on the coasts finding a place that gets locally sourced sea food and how long they get it after it is caught can be hard to know as a tourist.... IMO Shula's is likely to have the freshest seafood at Disney but if you are willing to drive to the coast you can find boat docks and watch the boats come in and see the fish being prepared and you can guarantee yourself a restaurant being there with very fresh seafood. Locally in my state we have a place most would drive on past next to a boat Dock that is both reasonable and 100% fresh caught but being it is order your food and eat outside on a picnic table and cash only it gets passed up frequently. Best people to ask in any state that is on the coast is locals..... otherwise you may end up with frozen from another country.

So true! There are a couple of places like that on the N.C. coast we hit up when we go to the beach. But our Disney trip won’t allow time so we are looking forward to Shulas. Maybe the next trip

Just us? We go to this restaurant 4 times per year, every year .
Service is scary good. DW once knocked a water glass over. Staff looked like the Merry Poppins Penguins, moving so fast ... with the follow on of "what glass?" .

Soft background music is usually Sinatra . Staff VERY nicely dressed, and VERY helpful. No drunks, no gorillas . It's a restaurant like one would find in San Francisco - linen on the table, 100% food and service . Not overly noisy, not overly quiet: for comparison, CA Grill louder, Citrico's softer.

Of note: NO DDP. TIW accepted.

When we went to Maine, lobster was the first thing on our minds. We spent the night in Bangor and asked the front desk where we should go that we didn't need to dress up. They directed us to a drive up place with picnic tables outside. We got the lazyman's lobster, meaning they pull it all out of the shell and you just eat it without the work. We got melted butter, a paper boat with the lobster and a side of cole slaw. It was pretty inexpensive compared to Shula's or the Boathouse. It was totally wonderful.

We also did a trip to the Maritimes in Canada and ate lobster so many nights for dinner. The lobster suppers are so good. They used to be churches or other organizations would have these lobster suppers to raise funds. Now they are just all the time. Plus you also get a bucket of mussels for an appetizer before you get your lobster.
