We have a Disney trip coming up in February and are staying at BLT at Contemporary. I booked a resort/tickets package for me and our 2 DS, but my DH had leftover park tickets and didn't need tickets this time, so I left him off the reservation since everyone on the reservation would have to have the same package. My TA didn't think it would be a big deal to add my DH to the reservation at the resort (so he could get access to the room, etc), but just curious if anyone has done something similar before? Also, somewhat related, I'm assuming he won't get a new magic band since he's not on the reservation. I'm guessing/hoping he can just take an old magic band and get it synced to the current room and reservation?

Thanks!!

Fastpasses may be an issue but as of now you can book for him as long as his account has an active ticket. He just can't book himself (if that makes any sense haha).

He'll get issued a new plain grey magicband if he is okay with that. His old magicband will still work though.

Yes it is possible to add him after you check in
But if you do it that way he will not be able to make any FP+ with you and your sons. He also will not be able to take Magical Express to the hotel until after he is on the reservation.
An old Magic Band will work.

He can still make his FPs at 60-days out as long as you include him when you book for everyone else.

Offsite, or people who aren't on the onsite reservation, share the same booking window when included in the booking group.

Are you flying in? I'm not 100% but I think Magical Express could be an issue too, so might want to check on that too.

I was told by a Disney phone CM ( so we all know how accurate phone CM are ) that is you add someone last minute there is a fee ( I forgot how much it was not much $20 or so ) but I could be wrong or the phone CM could be wrong

There is only a fee if the person makes it more then 2 adults occupying. The fee would be the additional adult occupancy fee which is charged to everyone over 2 adults no matter if they book before or after arrival.

THIS

We do it often including a local with us on our FP+ as we are connected via Friends & Family.

I often add someone at check-in. Never a fee to do so unless they are an extra adult, then it is a nightly fee.

Only issue is if you are flying ... and he is coming in with you ... he will not be on reservation to use ME.
I have added members to ME when they are arriving after I check in.

If you book a package and try to add a person, or subtract a person, or try to make any changes to the package reservation within the 30 day window, then you will pay a change fee. I think it is $50.

If you wait until DH arrives, then you can add him to the room at no cost. But the best way to handle the reservation would have been to get a room only reservation and then buy tickets without making it a package. That way you could add your husband right away.
