So i am extremly happy that my husband is taking me and our dh3 to disney in december for christmas. We have both of our families going and our brothers and sisters. I am looking forward to it. I am on the disboards everyday learning new things. DH wont even talk about it and if he does its to complain about how much its going to cost. I really want him to get excited about it. He told me i couldnt go without him but now all he does is complain about it. Hes been there maybe 6 times (use to go alot when he was younger) this will be my third time. i am going to plan some disney family nights and stuff to try and get him excited. Anymore ideas?:confused3

Honestly, I think you should just tell him that it's upsetting to you for him to be so negative all the time. Maybe he doesn't realize he's doing it?

Aside from that, what I would do is try to bring him around by getting your child really excited - it would be very hard for a parent to stew about the cost of something that's bringing so much joy to their child. Our trip is costing $1K more than what we figured it would, but our son's enthusiasm more than makes up for it.

My husband does not get excited about Disney either. He's only been there once and when we came home he told me that it wasn't as big of a deal as he thought it would be. (I know...I about slapped him.) The kids and I usually go without him. BUT out of the blue last fall he suggested we take a trip there again and he's totally cool with it. (His suggestion?...he's cool with it?...something's up!) We watch the shows on the travel channel to get him interested or read the travel books on Disney...granted it's already stuff we know but if something new has come out or new tips are listed it's fun to check that out. I try not to talk about it too much to him (I don't want to sound like the obsessive nut that I am!) but I let him be the one to bring it up and then we discuss it. So I do my own planning and getting the kids and myself excited while I let him come around on his own.

My DH is just not into the planning stages...he thinks I'm nuts! But once we get there...I swear, he has more fun than DD. ;)
