What could be better than waking up in Disney?
a. waking up in Disney and seeing a giraffe off your balcony
b. waking up in Disney in Jan. and putting on shorts
c. waking up in Disney knowing you are going to the Magic Kingdom
d. waking up in Disney on your first day knowing it's the beginning of your vacation.
I know, you want a choice "e" all of the above...
Nope, folks...can't do it.
Choice "a" would have been so very cool, and really should have been an answer. Unfortunatley, the reality was that we only once saw giraffes off to the right basically on another savanna. I was excited to stay SV and thought it would be cool to do once. I've read instances where other people will ONLY stay SV. Not us. We saw some birds on our savannah, and nothing against the birds, but they weren't as exciting as say a giraffe. A crowned crane maybe...not worth the extra points. It wasn't as disappointing as I thought; it was too cold to be on the balcony anyway!
Choice "b" was not the case for me. Too chilly at 40, with an afternoon high of 60. Yes, however, my girls and dh did indeed wear shorts most of the trip. So this would be an answer of theirs. My daughters actually said it would be like Disney if they couldn't wear shorts.
Choice "c" now we are getting somewhere. While I am at it choice "d" is correct also. So "on with the show"
Dh and I grabbed coffee (he did get cream from Mara the night before...)

and off we went to EMH at MK. The bus was already at the bus stop. After a short ride on the bus, we arrived at the park, went through bag check and before I knew it I was looking at:
I made my family wait and get a family shot by the photopass photographer:
While we waited for another family (or two) - wow, my family was patient - I took this
The photopass photographer took this for us while waiting for it to pass to take our picture...
The low crowds helped us to stop and not rush so much...dh and I saw this guy and wanted a picture!
He made a licking sound and gesture upon taking my hand...and I forgot the cardinal rule (leave alone the head...) and went to ruffle his head. The handler reminded me (kindly) to not touch the head...

I couldn't believe I even reached up. DUH!
Feeling like a dope, I followed my family to Space Mountain. While in Space Mountain, I texted my friend to tell her my toes were cold. (I was rubbing Disney in just a little...) She assured me they would warm up.
After space, dh's eyes lit up...his favorite characters were visiting with a family so short wait for us.
This was my other really-I-am-not-this-stupid moments on the trip (I think these two are it- and they happened in less than ten minutes of another...)
I mixed up Chip and Dale. I even learned a little mnemonic device (choc chip) to remember and still messed up.

Both of them were very forgiving as I apologized multiple times. I don't think I will confuse them again, and I think I redeemed myself later on a different day...
While my family went back on SM, I took some shots...
How can you not love January?
We next headed to get some breakfast
We shared egg and cheese croissants, a chocolate croissant and a cinnamon bun.
Again, I swore I took a pic of the darn cinnamon roll…It could feed a family, but I don’t have one?
Did you notice that it was half a sandwich and food already disturbed...Please get used to this. Nearly every time we ate, I was so hungry that I would begin to eat and then say...oh wait, I have to take a pic.
I noticed something I really didn't think I should see -
Crowd shot at Liberty Square (or low crowd shot...)
Stop in the restroom-isn't this lovely?
A visit to a little shop - where Hannah wanted a similar pose as her sister's on the Boardwalk from summer...
After a couple of rides on BTMR
Yes, I took pics on the ride...
