DH has the Flu!

Poor DH got up this morning and came downstairs, I took one look at him and said Good Morning Casper! That's right he looks like Casper The Friendly Ghost. I knew he had it real bad. DH hardly ever gets sick, but when he gets, boy ole boy he gets it but good. I made him a cup of tea, that did not go over to well. I called him off from work, and he is sitting in his chair watching tv, warm blanket, bucket, etc.

Now here's the tricky part, I have to stay as far away from him as possible, due to my immune system. We both know that I can not afford to get this, I did have a flu shot and am using alot of Lysol. He said for me and Mom to still go over to The TexasRoadhouse for lunch. He even gave me money for the two of us. I have a pot of homemade tortellini soup planned for tonight or chicken whatever he feels up too. Also made some Jello in the fridge.

Mom said after lunch we will stop at BJ's and pick up one of there rotisserie chickens for later tonight. Hoping by tonight DH will feel like eating something.

I've decided to stay home with DH, I just don't feel right leaving him. Mom and I will go another day.

Not to sound like a mean wife but if I were you, I'd go spend the next couple days with Mom. A flu bug for anyone is bad, but for you can almost be life threatening....so I'm sure he'd understand.

If you're anywhere near the Detroit area, you can come spend the next few days here with me! Go to a friends, go to a hotel (hey, you & a girlfriend go spend a girls weekend out!), just go away from home!! Far, far away!!

Be careful! I'll be thinking of you!

He should have got the flu shot for your sake! Too late for that. If it is the real flu, he should call the Dr. asap and ask about Tamiflu. It can help him and perhaps help protect you by reducing the virus in him.

Are you sure it's the flu? The reason I ask is that you mentioned a "bucket." The true flu does not require a bucket. If he has an intestinal virus you are less likely to catch this. Just don't share a bathroom with him and wash your hands CONSTANTLY.
