My DH fell off a roof two weeks ago and we are planing to be at Disney Sept 30-Oct 9th... he has four pins in his wrist and its wraped with an ace bandage.... wondering if he can go on the rides etc... does anyone know since he doesnt have a "cast" just the pins and bandage I didnt know if they would say no....

He shouldn't have any problems at all. My dad has pins in his ankle and was able to ride everything. And my brother who has titanium instead of bones in his face (a result of a really bad car accident 9 years ago) rides without a problem. My only concern for him would be that since it's a fairly fresh injury it might be tender, and the jostling on some of the rides might hurt him a bit. But he will be allowed to ride anything he'd like.

:bounce: Thank you ..... I will tell him .... but I will tell you the pins stick out of the arm and wrist right now and are atached (anchored)by a long bar.... So that is why I was wondering if they might not let him on since it looks funny with the ace bandage on and a pin sticking out>>>

He shouldn't have a problem. The only time there is an issue is if people aren't able to maneuver out of wheelchairs. I've seen many a broken leg on the rides, so I don't see why visible hardware would be a problem!

Thanks !!!!!!

PS I forget how do we add the clock count down onto our profile???

He (and anyone with an arm or leg in a cast) should be very careful. The bones could be knocked out of alignment by an aggressive ride and he might not know it at first, and then it heals crooked.

It depends on how well he can hold himself in the ride seat using his other hand. The injured arm should not be exerting at any time.

Just a thought- If you're flying to WDW, be sure to have a physician's note to show security when he goes through the metal detectors.

In December 2001 I went to WDW solo with what sounds the same setup 4 pins and 2 interconnecting rods on the outside. Mine was in the 4th week of 13 so I was used to doing most things left handed by then.
Which wrist was broken, because some rides like Test Track and Dinosaur and now ToT you have to buckle your seatbelt. With a immobile wrist it is very hard since movement is restricted and the position needed to buckle up might not work. The only 2 rides I only rode once were RnR and SM. Not because of the ride itself but more getting out of the cars with one hand is difficult. One other thing to watch for is getting on/off WDW busses. I got hung up twice and the second time was very very unpleasant. Crowds after fantasmic and fireworks might want to be avoided since it is at the end of the day and your DH might have a very sore wrist after just normal park touring.

The most fun I had was unwrapping the Ace bandage and going to the resort pool bar in the evenings. Kids-cool with Older adults-disgusting and other drunks-cool again
