I've been dying to do a massage with my DH at GF, but my DH is saying he doesn't want to :( . I'm hoping you guys can help out by giving a little info. Don't you wear some sort of clothing during the massage (swim shorts, etc.)? Will the same person giving the massage most likely be the same gender?

I think he secretly wants to, but doesn't know what to expect.

I would love to hear some feedback on your experiences. :D

Thanks in advance for your responses!:wave2:

I haven't been to a spa before. My husband had given me two gift certificates to do a spa treatment, so we will go to it together.
My sister said that when they had gone to a spa, you can request if you want a man or a women to do it. I'm not sure if you wear clothing or not.

I had a massage there and I wore nothing but the robe they gave me and had a male (Jean Paul... wonderful massage!!!). I found this

Upon entering your private treatment room, the therapist will leave the room so you may disrobe. For most body services, we recommend you undress completely. You may wish to wear a bathing suit for hydrotherapy services.

It is recommended that Spa appointments be made as far in advance as possible. To ensure your preferred appointment time, we recommend you schedule your next visit at the conclusion of your treatment. We welcome Group and Conventions. So he can wear an undergarment if he likes, but I have been told they get in the way by the therapists. I will also say I was not left uncovered at all... didn't feel uncomfortable. And he could request but is not guaranteed a male therapist.

I highly recommend it... it was one of hte best experiences I've ever had

My DH has massages. He usually has a female massage therapist.

He really enjoys it.

I'm not sure what he wears during the massage but a guy could wear those boxer type underwear-I think that would be alright.

Tell him to try it-he'll LOVE it!

I go to a day spa here at home and have been to several others. They all say "remove as much clothing as you are comfortable with" and then give you a HUGE sheet to cover yourself. You undress while they are out of the room and they knock to make sure you're lying down and covered before they come back in (like at the doctor's office...). They only uncover the portion of your body that they are massaging at that time...both for your modesty and so you don't get chilled. I'm female, and I take off everything except my underwear. They don't really massage that area, anyway, and I'm more comfortable that way. When she does my thighs she is right up to my pantylines, but doesn't go higher than that. Couldn't imagine leaving on a bra as I mainly go for the back massage since that's where I "carrry my stress". If I ever talk DH into going with me (he's a VERY private sort of person so he's hesitant) I'd suggest he wear boxer-briefs and leave them on for his comfort. I have only gone to dayspas with all female massage therapists, but I would think a larger place like the GF could accomodate your preferences for male or female technicians.

Careful, though! After you get one you'll constantly try to find ways to make them a regular part of your life! I LOVE getting massages....mmmmm......so relaxing.....if only DH would learn so I could have one every day or so!!

My DH hates massage. I get regular body work done and love
it. One always has the choice of wearing boxers/underwear.
I wouldn't push it. We had his and hers massages before our
wedding and it almost ruined the whole day prior to our marriage
because he just didn't like it.
20+ years later, I keep getting massage and he hasn't ever done
it again.

The place I go you can take off as little or as much as you like. You also lay down and are covered with a big blanket and they only uncover the area they are working on at that time. You are asked when you make the appointment if you want a male or a female....I always choose the male, I wold just rather have a male doing it than a female...same with a Ob/GN..I would never go to a female...I would rather have a male poking around there than a female.

Thanks for your insight! I'm okay with it. I figured they would give some privacy as well. I suggested a female for him since I think he would be a little more comfortable. I think my DH almost had heart failure when I told him down to his boxers:earseek: LOL! I think he would totally love it if he tried it. I feel pretty confident it's going to ruin me! I really don't see a difference in underwear vs. bathing suit type attire for men anyway so I don't know why the big beef. That's my DH though:crazy: ! I really hope to work on him a little more before we go :smooth:. If not, I'm going by myself :( , but a girl's gotta do what girl's gotta do.::yes:: princess:

When I did the Cabana massage on Castaway Cay, the threapist had me srtip down to my knickers. She specifiacally said that. Butit could have beenthe facthat we were on the open beach.

Perhaps you could suggest your husband wear a lime green thong? That will keep him covered and he will be a true Diser!

Seriously, he may be concerned due to all the bad press that is out there about massage places being fronts for the other naughty business. You can't believer ecerything inthe papers, they are not all like that!

tell Hubby your naked and gay men massage you

My DH was really embarrassed about getting a massage. He's a big guy and has a pretty hairy back, so he was nervous and uncomfortable with the idea of a therapist seeing him mostly naked. He always said he would like to try it but this held him back.

On our last Disney cruise in September, I booked him a massage and told him he had to go or he would have to pay for it anyway! He went and LOVED it! The therapist (a woman) really made him feel comfortable and, like said before, he was mostly covered except for the parts being worked on.

But, I've created a monster! He now gets jealous when I go to Day Spas now and was disappointed to hear he couldn't go with me, DSis and DMom to Grand Floridian Spa when we go in December!

My DH is a big guy, not hairy, just modest. He is now concerned about me being completely in the buff with someone giving me a massage:o ! It doesn't matter if it's a he or she doing it....he's not liking it. I tell you, I just don't know what to do with him. I already told him that I would not be completely in the nude and they are professionals for crying out loud:rolleyes:, it's what they do for a living.

Are there any other male disers that are upset with the DW getting massages from even a female:confused: ? If so, why does it bother you so badly? I'd like to gain some perspective here:scratchin so I can understand my overly worried DH.

I hate massages. My husband loves them. If he doesn't want to go, save your money and go by yourself. He won't enjoy it. He could always sit in the sauna or steam room while you are getting your massage.
