DH and THE Turkey Dance

some of you may remember that my lovely dh has a traditional
"dance routine" he does with the turkey before it is stuffed. Well this year my ds-15 picked out a frozen 23# bird at the local Safeway to be served at our Thanksgiving feast. Ya' know I thought the bird was frozen a little lop sided.. but took the fella home anyway. Defrosted as normal.. DH was removing Mr. Turkey from its bag..giggling could be heard.. then LOL soon followed.. oh Mr. Turkey must have been on the disabled Turkey list prior to his execution..... He was still lopsided, his legs puny for his girth and his right wing was missing a very large portion....sad looking bird...
BUT THE SHOW MUST GO ON! exclaimed dh... Mr. Turkey was given a bath and his gizzards etc removed.. he was patted dry...
then a large black man aka -dh.. shoved his hand up Mr. Turkeys behind and proceeded to have Mr. Turkey Dance to dh's odd little tune..

Encore.. Encore my dear teen's were near hysterics.. Mr. Turkey and dh complied.. another tune and naked Mr. Turkey strutted his stuff..
The show ended with Mr. Turkey being stuffed with delicious sausage stuffing and being placed in the oven .. with TAPS being sounded.
ah..It is good to know that this Thankgiving tradition continues at our house!

I KNEW that turkey looked too comfortable as his frozen body sat next to me in the passenger's seat of the van.. My blue handicap parking tag was underneath his cold behind! LOL

I SWEAR we need to get you a digital camera (or invite someone who has one!!) This story had me in hysterics last year, and I was thinking of you guys this year, as we were drying our bird after it's brining. EOTE (Equal Opportunity Turkey Eaters) hee hee hee.

I am sorry to be technically inept.. silly goose am I.. BUT ds did take a reg photo of dear dad and his dancing partner.. when he gets them developed I promise to have it posted.. hopefully before Christmas.

Turkey song is just a little wordless tune dh sings "Dee Dee dilly..dee dee..." silly man husband..
