It's been 4 years since our DGC first went to WDW, and we've enjoyed 5 great DVC visits. Yesterday, DDiL and family presented me with a beautiful book with pictures and stories from all of the trips. The book is over 100 pages long. Interspaced throughout the book are exclamations of love and thanks, and the book itself is a treasure beyond measure.

We're all in Cape May right now...it's been a great week and there's at least 4days to go. There have been bumps and lumps, and some grumps, (including me). 3 dogs, 3 kids, 12 people present max at the height, 17 different people altogether.

I suppose the reason for the post is to give some comfort to the planners of grand gatherings. In laws, outlaws, we have the gammit, and except for one uncle who didn't want to "do" WDW if he "had" to use a cart, we're all in the book. That uncle enjoyed the book as much as the rest of us, he's comfortable with his decision not to travel, he's now 85.

pixiedust:to all of the planners. I sincerely hope your efforts are rewarded! We talked about jobs this week, and I mentioned that mine was p/t and DDiL piped up that the teaching may be p/t but the famiy travel agent really works full time and does a great job.

Life can be sweet!

Oh, Bobbi...what a wonderful story...thanks so much for sharing it w/us...

Wish it were possible (I know it's not!) for you to post the whole book so we could see the evidence of the memories ... we all have our own, of course...but yours reinforce mine...

You are so so SO right: life can be (is) sweet!

Enjoy the remaining days of this trip, and many more trips to come...and thanks for the moment of joy for the rest of us this morning...

Thanks for sharing! The memories are wonderful! You could do a digital photo frame of all the pictures, too.

We did a smaller version...5 people...in January to celebrate my 84 yo parents' 60th Anniversary. I gave them a scrapbook...including our MULTIPLE WDW trips when they were in their 80s. Priceless!

Sounds like your DSon picked a winner for a DW! 100 pages is a MAJOR investment of time and planning, especially for a family with young kids. Next time you get your dues statement you can pull out your book and know that every penny has been well spent. Nothing better than family and memories! Thanks for posting about this, Bobbi! :goodvibes

That's great, wish I was organized enough to do a book like that! Sounds like you have a very appreciative family. ;)

Wonderful! It seems like I always do the 'books' for memories..maybe one day I'll get one too! :)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh HOW NICE!!!! I bet you got a few tears when you got that!!! Isn't it nice to be appreciated for all your efforts. Now don't let the cat out of the bag......"You know that you love ever single minute of all that DVC/Disney planning!!" Just milk it girl....wipe that brow a few times the next time you are planning another "family trip"!!!!! They don't need to know how much you love planning DVC trips...... let them think....it is WORK....hard hard work. ;)

I am sure you will treasure that book and all of the memories for many years to come!!!!! :goodvibes

That's Awesome Bobbi!:thumbsup2 I hope the same for my family:love:

What a nice surprise for you to cherish! It's nice when all of the hard "work" of planning special vacations for your family is acknowledged and appreciated :goodvibes

Bobbi, how wonderful!!!!!!!!!!! What a great treasure! :)

It always nice to have these little reminders that you are appreciated! It sounds like a wonderful book and a wonderful family! I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip and have fun planning how you will make more memories!

It's wonderful to know your efforts are more than appreciated. I took my sister, nephew and brother in law last year and about a week or two later my sister invited me over for dinner and to share our pictures. She surprised me with a photobook that she made by uploading her pics of me and my nephew to one of those online photo sites. The photobook is titled: My First Disney Trip with Aunt Charmaine.:cloud9: Priceless!!!

HI Bobbi,

Having done several gift scrap/photo books in the past as well as my son's album, I know what it must have taken to put together 100 pages! I bet they were all so excited to present this to you. Enjoy the feeling as I am sure you deserve it! :cloud9:

Wow, what a magical moment! It's wonderful to hear how much they appreciate your planning efforts.

Today I was working on our dinner schedule for our Nov trip. The first week I have only 6 of us, but then we have 20 on the Wonder cruise the second week.

What a wonderful gift! Just a testament to you "making memories" with your family. Makes me teary eyed.
