DH and I could see a movie tonight..which one The Village or Manchurian Canidate?

I did not want to read to many of the threads about them because I did not want to spoil any surprises.


I was a little freaked by Sixth Sense so will I be okay??

Yes, please give me your reviews about "The Village"! I've read lukewarm ones in the paper, but it just looks like my kind of scary movie!!

I saw them both Friday. LOVED them both.

I give an edge to the Village, mainly because I was so enthralled with Ron Howard's daughter, who carried the entire film. It was not SCARY SCARY, more suspenseful. I, too read the lukewarm reviews so I came in with LOW expectations and was quite surprised.

On the other hand I came in with very HIGH expectations with the Manchurian Candidate, and was a bit let down. The movie is good, I must admit, but very strange! Meryl Streep was phenomenal, Denzel was not my handsome leading man like I wanted him to be but good.

Both are worth seeing, though. You can't go wrong.

last nite DS who is 10 was with me not really scary ,a few jumps
But I thought the movie was great and so did DS .
Realy good ending! Go see it before someone tells you about it and ruins it for you.

I saw both yesterday.

The Village was an ok movie, but with a really good story or baseline, if that makes sense. It wasn't so much the greatness of the acting and such but the story was very interesting...

The other one was good, but a little confusing. It was a really good movie but we are still trying to figure out some logistics.
