DFTW Event Manager?

I just got my first phone call from my assigned event manager. Has anyone had Tim ( Didn't get his last name as it was a quick phone call) ? Just wondering what experiences anyone has had.

Hi there,
I wish I had better things to say about Tim (If its Tim Blunk,thats who I had - key word had ) I felt like I was the last priority on his list. It started out as missed phone calls when he promised he would call (I would leave work early trying to get initial details ironed out, wait by the phone, no call, extremely disapointed ) Then, when I asked him for information regarding certain details, he promised he would sent things out to let me take a look at and never did. He just stressed me out A LOT!! When I did talk to him, I felt zero connection to him. I just didn't imagine him and I being able to plan my dream wedding together. So, I talked to my coordinater, and we got switched immediatly. Now, I have Karen Heyn and love her to death! She was so supportive and understanding and has been there every step of the way. I love her to death. I'm not saying that Tim is a bad planner....he has his job for a reason and I'm sure he would have done a fantastic job, he just wasn't right for me. I feel you have to have a connection with someone when planning your wedding, especially when they are your eyes and ears on so many different things (We are planning from Boston so I have to entrust that they are telling me the right things). I wish you the best of luck. Tim might be perfect for you, he might not. But either way, your wedding will be terrific! Best wishes!

Disneyheaven, thanks for letting me know your experience. Its very helpful and we will see how things go. Its not the greatest news I wanted to hear but hopefully things will go well for me.

You're welcome I bet things will work out just fine... I just know they will But just remember that if they don't and things start to not feel right, just know that it is YOUR day and you need to feel good about who you are working with. You have the the choice, freedom, and right to switch to someone else. My fear was that I wouldn't be able to change and then Disney would be angry with me, etc...but they were terrific. There were no questions asked....just a new planner with a great attitude Here's wishing to no problems or yicky feelings....Who knows? You two could be the perfect perfect match and plan the most INCREDIBLE wedding together! Best wishes!!

Got to chime in here...Tim is my planner and I love him!! He has been wonderful. I've never had trouble getting in touch with him or with him getting back with me. I think the key is to remember that they are extremely busy and not always in their office because of so many visits to Frank's, weddings, planning sessions, and site visits. It's amazing all they have to do and all the brides that they have. Don't write him off just yet. He has a wonderful attitude and I can tell that he truely cares about my wedding. He has a great attitude and really works well on a budget, he doesn't try to force anything. And yes, each planner is going to spend more time with brides that have weddings right around the corner. They can put these events together so quickly so it can be hard for us (who are so anxious about our day) to understand. My best advice is to go with the flow and not panic about not hearing back immediatly. I couldn't be happier with Tim!! Good luck.

I have to agree with Glass Slipper. I have Tim also and he has been great!
