On to Tuesday!
Sadly, we had to switch resorts and go to Pop Century that morning. So sad. :( We weren't concerned about time - we got on rides so quickly on Monday that we knew we could do MGM in less than a day. So, we ate a quick breakfast at the Mara and went to check in at Pop. Ooops. They had my reservation for 11/11/05, not 1/11/05. The nice thing is, I got a bit of a refund, since they had originally charged me for peak season, not value season. Which you think I would have picked up on, but no....! Well, they got it worked out, so it wasn't really a big deal, especially since we weren't in a hurry. And, even though it was only 10:00 or so, they had our room ready! So that was nice. Unpacked and then headed to MGM. Of course we rode the TOT repeatedly. It's my favorite ride. At least, it's right up there. We got right on both times, so we had no time to linger in the lobby, which was too bad. I really wanted DF to get the flavor. I did get to look at the directory and see the "Evil Tower UR Doomed" thing though. Pretty cool!!! Long story short, DF loved TOT. We tried to do the trick with the penny on your lap, but it kept falling off before we dropped. Aerosmith - also awesome, and NO wait. DF hates Aerosmith, so he wasn't very excited about it, but ended up thinking the ride was fantastic. On a side note, when we got back and were telling my mom about the trip, she referred to it as the "REO Speedwagon Coaster." This killed me. ;) Oh, we ate at the Starring Rolls Cafe, because DF was still hungry after throwing away the $7 fruit plate he bought at the Mara. It was really flavorless and kind of gross. Starring Rolls was also not so great. Meh. Anyway. Ummm... I think we then went to the Art of Animation. The last time I did this (many years ago, I must admit), you could actually watch the animators working on an upcoming movie! I was really disappointed that they don't have that aspect of it any more and it's pretty much just a vehicle for selling the Incredibles. Oh well. I did do the What A Character thing - I was Belle and DF was Tarzan. An interesting combo, we thought. :)
I know a lot of people probably think the Great Movie Ride is a classic, but I think it is in desperate need of an update. Even the movie clips at the end are dated. I think the most recent movie in there was Shakespeare in Love! I tried to find hieroglypics Donald and Mickey, but couldn't find them. We got the cowboy scene, by the way. Alien was not nearly as scary as I remember it being. :)
We had lunch at the Commissary, which was good, but the wait was absolutely ridiculous! We must have stood in line (between the cashier and the counter where you get your food) for 25 minutes. The Cuban Sandwich was yummy though.

Let's see.... loved Muppetvision, of course! Couldn't find the key or the net full of green jello. I did see the big poster of Jim Henson as a muppet, which I had never noticed before! Very cute. DF was disappointed in Star Tours. I never really liked it, because I don't much care for Star Wars, but he really had high expectations. :( Oh well! We meant to do Indiana Jones, but our timing was never right. Didn't do Catastrophe Canyon or the Playhouse. All in all, our day at MGM was pretty short. It's my least favorite park.

I think we then went back for a nap (a daily ritual) and visited Downtown Disney again in the evening - this time we went to the Westside. I can't remember where we had dinner. Hmm. Must not have been anything fantastic. :) We might have just eaten at Everything Pop when we got home that night.

How do you like that resort. and how was the food court? I know a few people have commented about how good it is........thanks again for your report

Thanks again for another report! And count yourself lucky that your DF likes the TOT. I took my DH for his first trip and we rode TOT. He hates it! It is one of my favorite rides so I am really bummed that I don't have anyone to ride it with; at least not until my DS gets older!

It was OK... we got spoiled by AKL first, though. The food was pretty decent, but nothing to write home about. :)
