Anyone disappointed with this season so far? I thought the opening episode was fantastic and it seems to be going downhill.

I am. I just started watching this season. I watched all previous seasons on Netflix and rushed to get them done so I could be caught up when this season started. I couldn't wait to get my next disc. Now I am so bored when I watch it.

I haven't watched last night's episode yet. But, I felt the way that you have been feeling until last week. I thought it sort of really picked up on last week's episode with the girl and what not. Not sure how I'll feel after I watch last night's episode. I do think because of last season's events, they've had to spend a lot of time in this season sort of closing that up (getting the kids sorted out, the nannay, living arrangements, etc). I'm hoping that it all starts heating up soon!

I started to feel as if was going downhill, but ever since last weeks episode "Everything is Illuminated" I have a new hope, it was my favorite episode of the season so far.

Agreed. This past episode really kicked it up a notch! It was sooooo tense!

Was that one scene in the warehouse (with the guy wrapped up in plastic wrap and the other one belted to the pole) not the funniest thing ever. Matsuka (or however it is spelled) is one of my fave characters.

It started off boring and seems to be getting better.
Part of the problem is that last season was SO good. I'm hoping it keeps getting better, but I still don't think there's any way they can come close to last season.

Yeah, I think the season had a slow start, but is now going uphill. Sunday's episode had me ridiculously nervous. Yep, nervous for the safety and well-being of a fictional serial killer. :sad2:

I agree. It was totally boring until this past Sunday. I was at the edge of my seat thinking he was going to get caught. I guess it's hard to improve on last season though.

I would really like it if they got rid of all these stupid subplots (bautista and laguerta, deb and quinn, harrison and nanny, lumen). I just want a big time serial killer like Trinity to come in and have Dexter hunt him the entire season. That's what I enjoy.

With the first episode or two I was thinking the new season would be terrible. I was just not liking it. But its starting to pick up for me.

After Sunday, I get the feeling that Lumen is not a sub-plot.

DH & I haven't watched this Sunday's episode yet but based on what you guys are saying it should be good. The whole premise this season, with the baby and all, is pretty heavy on the creepy for me even without the story going anywhere. Add in his sister going with Quinn who keeps shifting through Dexter's business plus the new addition of Lumen, totally heart wrenchingly tragic, and I can't help but get anxious about what's coming. True, the last 2 episodes were dull but it seems like the writers are building up a storyline with 2 innocents who are bound to get in his way... I hope it pays off. The show is strangely hypnotic, probably because they make Dexter likable through expert writing despite the fact sociopaths never actually have redeeming qualities in real life. The whole vigilante thing works.

I think that what was making this season so slow was all the time they *had* to spend wrapping up the tragedy of last season. I mean, with Rita being murdered, they just couldn't jump right into the action. They spent a good three shows getting things settled (the kids, the house, the nanny, Dexter's emotions). Between last week's episode and the one this past Sunday, Dexter seems to be getting his "game" back and moving out of the grief and shock.

I'm surprised by how many people liked last season. I like John Lithgow, but in a 'pants on' sort of way.

I love this show! I'm ready for it to kick in this season too. This last episode was pretty good. I was laughing hysterically at Masuka in the background of the crime scene acting out what happened. So funny!

I'm with the PP who said drop the little subplots, but esp. LaGuerta and Batista. No chemistry at all. And Quinn is creepy this season.

Yes! Yes it was! lol, I found that episode had a good amount of humor
*Spoiler*
I also found the part when the dude escapes Dexter's vehicle runs by in the plastic wrap quite funny of a situation
*Spoiler end*

Yes, last season was very epic.
