Devon's Make-A-Wish PTR! Departing for Magic on Feb 16th!

Today's or rather, Saturday's (my camera needed to recharge) Big Give came all the way from Canada! At first I thought it was something for me from my Gran, but she doesn't live in Canada. So then I was like, I don't know anyone in Canada. Then the pistons in my brain started to fire and it clicked, it must be a Big Give Delivery.

It was from Purple Ears! And it was just for Cassidy. Dev was a little jealous at first, but I only had to remind that one, he was gotten a few that were just for him and two, he was lucky to even getting anything at all. Then he found out it was skirt, which is a "girl thing" and wasn't soo put out because it wasn't something that he thought was cool.

Cassidy and I, however, thought it was very cool.

It has something different on every panel!

Thank you so much Purple Ears!

Oh I am glad that the package arrived and the skirt fits! The package had a little bit of a story to tell since I found it in MY mailbox about 2 weeks after I initially mailed it. I had to take it back to the post office to send it on the way! Devon is too funny in thinking "girl things" are not cool! Your family will be off to the special trip before you know it! Have fun!

Yesterday was our day to give back to the hospital that saved Devon. I guess for Cardon's they don't see patients much after discharged. My dad wasn't shy in telling any nurse he thinks even looked at Devon during our time there that he or she played a part in saving his life. I told the staff that even though he was transferred somewhere else for treatment of his AVM. Cardon's saved his life so that surgery was what we were prepping for instead of a funeral.

Anyway, the plan was at first my dad taking Devon and bringing some goodies for the staff. Then Devon thought he might want to bring somethings for the kids that are there. Then I told my mom his idea.....and it got it a little crazy. Her and my dad's thinking was that after Christmas the toy closet might be a little bare. We didn't get a before picture, and looks nice and full, but lets say that he about doubled what was in there.

This is before we stocked up my dad's truck

We really should have taken a before picture of the toy closet.

Dev also got super shy. All the nurses that remember him that were there that day fawned all over him. They were so happy to hear how far he has come and that his ok now. And he just got red as a tomato and shy and did some weird slow robot walk.

It felt great to give back like that.

This is such a wonderful and beautiful story! Thank you so much for sharing it. Devon has a big heart to want to bring goodies to the kids in hospital. I think your family deserves a big praise for raising such a caring young man!

Fantastic giving back!

The last 2 years we've tried to donate to the hospital. Keira has held a bake sale at our church in September since it's childhood cancer awareness month. Last year we just donated the money, this year we donated 3 DS lites and 5 games to replace some of the systems on the cancer floor that were stolen.

I am so glad the kids enjoyed their gives!!! They look so happy! And how WONDERFUL of you guys to give back!! That is so AWESOME!!:thumbsup2

Monday was a surprise. The deliveries were trickling down and I was less than enthusiastic going to the mailbox.

Low and behold, this was waiting for me....well Dev and Cassidy. I also misplaced the letter that came with it, so please let me remind me if you sent this.
