Developer Points

Help a confused new owner, please ~ We own at AKV (with a Feb use year, if that matters to the question). We have developer points to use at SSR by 9/30/13. We are looking to travel 8/13. If we book now at our home resort (11 months out) with our 2013 use year points, and at 7 months out, switch to SSR with our developer points, do our AKV points that we originally booked with have to be used in 2013, or would they be bankable for use in 2014?

Your 2013 points would be good for stays 2/1/13 to 1/31/14. So as long as your dates of stay are within those dates, you can cancel and bank them by 9/30/13. You would have to cancel more than 30 days before check-in.

Is there some restriction of how far out you can book with the Dev. Pts? I would just book with those and skip booking with regular points.

(not your question I know but unless there's other info it's what I would do. Even if there is some restriction to 7 months, which I don't recall with any DP's we ever received, I don't think you'll have a problem booking SSR for Aug at 7 months)
