It will take several WEEKS to get a reservation number.
Here is my latest bad experience with developer points. I made a reservation using the last of my developer points and most of my present UY points. So I wanted to make another reservation using my points, and to borrow from next use year.
Well, it was a week after I made this reservation using my left over developer points and my own points. I still have 27 points left in this use year, but I know they were used to make the reservation using the developer points. These are done by hand, and obviously hadn't been done yet, or I wouldn't have had the points left.
I told the MS person that I didn't want to touch those left over points because they were already used to make a developer point reservation. I wanted to borrow points to make a reservation in December. MS person said that I would "Have to wait until those points disappeared from my account until I made a reservation with borrowed points." WhAT??? I have 700 points and I want to make a reservation for December.. "Yes, but if you have points in your present use year, I can't borrow until those are used"
Well, that doesn't sound fair to me...I have to wait and maybe not get a reservation because MS can't keep up with these manual reservations...I asked to speak to a supervisor...
I was on hold 37 minutes...yes, 37 minutes...CM was very nice, but she was instructed by the supervisor to put those points into another account so that she could borrow my points for me....
YIKES another issue with developer points. I hate them. The only good thing was that I used a whole bunch for a cruise...but you really have to be careful...if you cancel a reservation with developer points, you better have a reservation to replace the cancelled points, or you could be waiting 4-6 weeks for those points to reappear.
Just keep good records of your developer points and how you have used them.
I was told yesterday I have 150 developer points left...I know I don't have them left....someone hasn't done something correctly!
