Developer points question. I'm so confused.

Yesterday I called to make a ressie using my developer points, the CM I spoke with seemed a bit uncertain and kept putting me on hold. Finally she made the ressie and gave me a confirmation number. That alone confused me because I have been reading that since the points come from another account it takes awhile to get a confirmation number. So now I log on to look at my account on the DVC website and it is showing a transfer of 160 points into my accounts less the points for my ressie which is something like 126 points, which leaves me with a balance of 2008 points which is well above my purchase of 160 points. I'm so confused. I thought I read that the developer points would never actually show up on your account since they are essentially a loan from disney. I'm also confused because I received a confirmation number the minute she made the reservation and I've read several posts regarding people having to wait several weeks to receive a confirmation number. So anyone else experience this?

It's not true that your points don't show up on the DVC web site, but they do seem to show up in weird ways. We got incentive points and they showed up as "borrowed in" to our 2007 use year, I think.

Your mileage may vary, it seems, but I wouldn't worry if it seems like you have more than 1 use year's worth of points in your current year - if you hadn't made any reservations yet, I'm thinking it might show you have (for example) 260 points available this year - 100 developer + 160 for your current year.

And reservations made with developer points did show up on the web site for us, although others said they didn't.

Thank you! I feel better just knowing that someone else's are showing up as well. I sat here and stared at that website for 20 minutes tonite just verifying that they didn't use my 2008 points or something like that. My ressie shows up on the website as well. So I guess it's all good.
