Detailed Review of Latin Quarter!

Latin Quarter (in CityWalk)
We had a 6 p.m. dinner PS at Latin Quarter. Background:

My Mom (50s) – likes practically everything but is the best at knowing what’s good and what isn’t. Favorites are Italian and seafood.
My dad (50s) – extremely picky! Favorites are Barbecue, Italian and seafood.
Myself (30) - always told I was a picky eater but compared to my dad, I’m not! Favorites are Asian food and seafood.
My daughter (5-1/2) – doesn’t like “traditional” kid’s foods like mac and cheese, etc. Has developed a gourmet taste already! Favorites are pasta, crab legs, salmon and ribs.
We are all major dessert lovers.
Our rating system is yucky, so-so, good, very good, and excellent.

The menu had lots of interesting choices including many seafood entrees that sounded really good.

I ordered the Vegetarian Paella with chicken. It was “excellent.” The portion was HUGE. It definitely was one to share. I felt bad wasting so much. There should be half sizes available. I seriously doubt if anyone could have finished it. I ate to the point I was too full for dessert (that rarely happens)!

My mom ordered the Sea Bass in Parchment and rated it “very good.”

My dad ordered the pork tenderloin and rated it “excellent.” I think this was his only “excellent” on the trip, excluding dessert of course!

My daughter ordered the grilled shrimp and rice off the kid’s menu. She said she “loved it.”

My only complaint with service was that we never saw our waiter again after he brought the entrees. Our drinks sat unfilled for the remaining time (one of our all-time pet peeves)!

I’d like to eat at Latin Quarter again on our next trip to the Universal area, but we may decide to try something new.

Thanks for all the time you took to put up these reviews. The reviews of Emerils certainly have not been good lately. We've never tried Latin Quarter before and now I think we just might. Were the prices reasonable here?

Mmmm...that sounded nice. My dd would like the shrimp and rice. If the waiter/tress doesn't come back I always smile at another one and say how nice it all is then say..... I'm dying of thirst could they find out waiter! Usually works!!

I love your reviews (except they're making me hungry ). Next trip I'll have to try the vegetarian Paella. I wanted to eat there but didn't see anything veget on the menu that was posted outside by the door.
