We have been invited to a friends daughters destination wedding. My question is since we have to pay alot of money to go to the wedding are we still required to get them a wedding gift? I know we will be going to showers, stags and jack and jills but it seems like we have to budget alot of money for this wedding and if we have to gt them a gift as well WOW.... I think I need a extra job :)

What is your experience?

Thank you

Kim

I book a number of destination weddings and the guests typically do not bring a gift and the couples were not expecting any gifts from the guests that were joining them on their special event. Of course, every couple is different and I have had a small handful of couples after they returned that did complain to me that they did not receive any gifts :)

I had a destination wedding and I did not expect any of my guests to bring gifts. It meant so much to me that they were even able to attend.

I know of a few couples that have also had destination weddings and the main reason for the destination wedding was to keep the wedding relatively small and to avoid receiving gifts. Hope that helps.

To me, if I was having a destination wedding the pleasure of your company would be a gift enough.
