I just read Jim Hills article on the new Destination Disney program which is being rolled out. the article states that this program is available to all guests who book through www.disneyworld.com.

this program is designed to get guests in to the park within two hours after their arrival at Orlando Intl. Airport. It also will bypass the check in desks at the resorts.

Hmmm.....We use Member Services for our ressie, and we typically book our own plane fair, do you think we are or aren't included in this program ??

Personally it sounds like a great program, but because our family dosn't use Disney Travel Inc., I think we are not included.

There is much more to this program, to read the entire article click here;

Sounds like a good program. I like the idea, from the plane to inside the parks within 2 hours.

We drive, but always like to see thse kinds of process improvements, regardless if DVC members are included or not. There's a part of me that thinks that the better cash guests are treated and continually courted, the better they are able to make contributions to maintain the parks and to pay cash for rooms DVC members aren't using, thus increasing our trading power. I don't like to get hung up on they got something we didn't. I'd just like to see some better options for DVC members concerning park passes, I think that would be in both DVC members and Disney's best interest.

In the quality business, we call this "improving throughput."

I'm sorry if I gave an impression that I was whinning about the fact that we might not be included. That is not my intent, I was simply posing the question.

I might re-think the way we book our flights in the future though, if booking through MS will afford us in to the program, AND there is no orice differential.

I like the fact that the PDA would allow us to get priority seating, and fast passes effortlessly.

As pointed out in the article, for awhile, this program will be available only to those packages reserved online, but some features will be available to other guests (renting the interactive "plush").

This sure sounds like an ambitious program that will take awhile to catch on. I assume there will also be some extra expen$e involved for the packages it will come with.

If there is extra expense, I'll also assume it will be awhile (if ever) before it's available for DVC stays unless members are willing to pay for it with increased dues or extra fees for stays using the service.

Interesting concept! :)

I actually was able to test one of these "plush" toys back in October 2001. At the time I signed a confidentiality agreement, but since it is now been announced I guess I can talk about it. they offered us $50 disney dollars and hats for our whole party if we would test it, heck, I would have done it for free. It was great for the kids. The one we had was a plush mickey and the kids did not want to give it back. We did suggest that they do two different versions, one for first time visitors and one for repeat visitors. It would give suggestions, jokes and trivia. Things such as, when we were standing it line at Peter Pan it told us to check out Its a Small World accross from us. Little trivia like the crown at the top of the castle. We really did enjoy it and it made the experience all that more magical.

I didn't mean to imply you were, I wasn't even aware this exsisted, and I'm glad you shared the info. Thanks!

Gosh. Get off the plane, and five minutes to the area where you meet the town car person, then 15 minutes for them to get the town car (or emerald aisle straight to car at national), then 30-45 minutes to resort, 15 minutes to check in and check bags, 30 minutes to hop on a boat to a park, 5 minutes from the boat through the turnstiles - 1 hour 55 minutes, right?

We don't check bags on the flight and have passes.
