Desserts at restaurants

I have been looking at the menus for the restaurants in WDW and have noticed that the choices are flimsy at best. Are there any desserts they offer that are not listed on the allears menu site? Like does every restaurant have a simple cheesecake even though it's not listed or is it a strict menu - what you see is what you get.

Thanks!

It's pretty much what you see is what you get. They will do their best to accommodate you as far as special requests. If there is cheesecake with cherries listed on the menu - they'll hold the cherries for you, and things like that.

Another thing that they generally offer, that is not listed, is fresh fruit for a dessert option.

Sure the choices are pretty limited, but remember these are restaurants trying to churn out meals for hoards of hungry theme park guests. They are not "real restaurants" whose business it is to attract diners in a competitive market.

For what they are, I think they do a pretty decent job.

Not sure what that means, but wanting a simple slice of cheesecake can be seen as routine. I think the TS restaurants offer variety. Ice cream, sorbet and fresh berry bowls are usually available at all places. Also the kids desserts are available to adults. I had the kids banana split at Narcoosee's and the make your own sundae at Coral Reef. I perferred simpler desserts and those were perfect for me; serving size was sufficient as well.

DH and i are pretty easy to please, far as dessert - yes, the pickings are slim as far as variety, but there are some standouts: narcoosees (almond crusted cheesecake), coral reef (jack daniels/baileys chocolate parfait) and brown derby (grapefruit cake -yes, i like it!) - otherwise it seems all the restaurants have a version of something chocolate, something fruity and (if you're lucky) something cheesecake-y

I'm not sure using "flimsy" and "simple" in the same question is getting you the answer you want. Disney restaurants have a wide variety of dessert options available. Almost all have something chocolate (I know because I do not eat chocolate). In a time when Disney is getting "heat" for "standardizing" its menus, having cheesecake at every single restaurant would get very boring and induce loud screams from at least this board about how Disney is getting cheap and unimaginative.

But I do understand. I don't eat chocolate (personal choice) so I find desserts anywhere to be limited for me. Disney or not. There is one chain where every single dessert item has chocolate in it. I am usually "stuck" with cheesecake.
