For Christmas Eve I wanted to serve the dessert shots (or shooters) like you get at Chili's or Applebees. For those that haven't seen them, they are individual desserts that are layered into shot glasses. They are small enough that each person gets 2 or 3. I was thinking of a key lime, strawberry cheesecake and maybe something chocolate. I'm open to suggestions....please!
You can use sweetened condensed milk and add spices and flavors.
For instance fresh grated nutmeg, dessert liquers, canned pumkin, apple pie filling, etc.
Then whip up some plain cream cheese with some sugar and a few tablespoons of lemon juice and grated lemon zest. Do it to taste and you can eyeball the amounts.
Then take your favorite brownies, cookies, cake, candy (usually nuts and chocolates, caramels) and individually make them into crumbs or small pieces. It can be chuncky per your taste and type of flavors.
Then layer your shot glasses. You can top with melted caramel, hot fudge sauce, or more dessert liquer and whip cream. You can also make a layer of fresh fruit like banana, berries, or pineapple.
Here is one I love:
Bottom layer is pumkin whipped into condensed milk with nutmeg/cinnamon
Next layer is crushed Honey Maid Graham Crackers sometimes they have the Gingerbread flavor at
Walmart which is yummy
Next layer is lemony cream cheese (you cant really taste the lemon it is light)
Next layer more pumkin whipped into condensed milk with nutmeg/cinnamon
Then melted caramel and top with whip cream.
But the combos are endless. Sometimes my family sets out the ingredients and we make them as we eat them like a dessert buffet.
Another favorite is alternating hot fudge, crushed oreos, whipped sweetened cream cheese, and bananas, and pecans with whip cream on top
Shot glasses are little so they fill up quick.
