Dessert Party worth it?

I'm sure there is a thread around here somewhere, I just didn't do the research. My question, has anyone ever done this and lived to tell about it? I'd love to do this with my husband but only if it's worth it.. How much is it? What kind of desserts? What was your experience like? Thanks in advance

We did this in December and thought it was well worth it! We loved the desserts, view, no crowds!
Yes-there is a thread on this....I'm not sure where though. It has pictures of the desserts, tables, view. While it was a bit spendy (what isn't?) my family of 5 (2 adults, 11 (adult pricing), 8, 5) was around 120.00.

It's worth it if you absolutely love desserts! They are plentiful and delicious - every single one of them. Tarts, mousses, cheesecakes, cannolis, etc. It's dessert heaven. If you're not a big sugar fan, this may not be for you. Although they do provide fruit and standard cookies/brownies too. The nice view and an actual chair to sit in to watch Wishes is the best part though.

The downside is the price, especially for an entire family. So I guess that part would depend on your budget. Also, the view for wishes is (obviously) not dead center. So if that would bother you, then you won't enjoy the show.

Should you decide to go, I recommend a late lunch or just an early dinner "snack," definitely not an entire meal. Save room for the desserts in order to get your money's worth!

My family really did enjoy this last June. Everything was great and you can't beat watching Wishes from here. Tink flies right towards you!!!! I say try it, I don't think that you will be disappointed. I also agree that if you do it, eat dinner early and leave room for those desserts!!!

I have done this with family and friends 4 or 5 times now. The first was within the first month they were offering it...Great desserts, but they cleaned up stuff to soon, and when I got up to watch the fireworks my full plate was cleared, and no more desserts were brought out...2nd was early last summer, and the BEST! Desserts and drinks for the entire time of the fireworks, and about 1/2 hour after! 3rd time desserts were ok, but they ran out of stuff, ditto 4th time... In April, befor Easter break, it was really NOT worth it. Desserts were smaller, which was ok, but the taste was only so-so. And instead of the entire Tomorrow Terrace bottom 2 parts reserved for the Dessert Party only the very bottom area was for the party! And they left the light full on durring the fireworks, ran out of stuff, drinks were not refilled...But the fact that the rest of the guests could watch the fireworks from the top of the Terrance where they had served the desserts from the past few parties was the worst! Why pay that much $$ for private seats when you could grab a few dollar Micky Bar or Ice Cream cone and sit only another 5 to 10 feet away. Won't be doing it for a while. And it might have been an off night, but... I did talk to the CM that was in charge about the smaller size of the desserts and that they had fewer offering, and he said that was the way it was going to be, and that they had also desided to open the upper part of the lower part(sorry if that is confusing...) to the rest of the guests cause it was "busy".

We did the Wishes party a few weeks ago and back in August. Both times the desserts were plentiful and delicious! The viewing spot, with TinkerBell flying right over your head, is amazing! Definitely worth the $!

We did it in May of 2010 and absolutely LOVED it!!
Not only were the treats yummy, but it was a great spot to watch wishes.
It was nice to have a place to sit, and afterward we could watch the crowds smoosh by as we continued to snack on milk and cookies (as well as the other desserts). Also, if you do the photopass (or not i guess) we got some awesome pix of us in front of the castle all lit up.
Sure, it may be a bit pricey, but so is EVERYTHING in Disney. It really wasn't that bad, and well worth the avoidance of the mass exit after Wishes.

I say...Let them eat cake!!

I did this on the 17th! I think it was $21 or so. We ate it as our dinner. The creme brulee was good. Let me think of a few things they had. Chocolate covered strawberries, mango shooter, chocolate mousse, cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake, truffles, and fruit(they had way more, I just can't think of it all)
It was good desserts, way better than most quick service desserts, some things were not as good as some table service desserts.
You have an amazing view of the fireworks and everything.

My mom and I did the dessert party last May and we really enjoyed it. The desserts were really yummy and plentiful and it was great to watch the fireworks without dealing with the crowd. We had a really great table and watched the fireworks from our seats. If I had been travelling with my kids I probably wouldn't have paid to do it because it was expensive, but it was a nice splurge with another adult.

Last May they were serving pistachio creme brulee, mango shooters, raspberry tarts, fruit tarts, chocolate covered strawberries, cannolis, chocolate cheesecake and lots more I can't remember. The desserts were still available during the fireworks, but some of the items had run out by then. They had a nice variety of drinks available. I specifically remember iced tea, milk, coffee, water and lemonade.

I have been trying and trying to love this idea. Reading the boards people keep saying that you need to get up from your table and go to the railing to see the fireworks. If you happen to get lucky enough to get right by the railing people crowd around you. I have never been nor have I actually seen the place where it is held. I would pay even more than the present price to sit down and not have to jockey for a space. I don't know- I will have to keep reading and see if there are any changes.

How much is the dessert party (adult) now? I think we paid $17.50 each when it started in 2009. We definitely thought it was worth the price then. The desserts were yummy and it was a really special experience.

Not sure its worth the price now. We first did it shortly after it started (when it was around $20pp) and we all really enjoyed the desserts and the chance to watch the fireworks away from the crowds.
Have done it twice since because the kids liked the desserts but I find them a bit too sickly and now that its so expensive I really don't think it is worth it.
We skipped it last time and I have to say that I much preferred watching the fireworks from the hub area as the atmosphere is so much better and there is no distraction from the lights. I really don't understand why they keep the lights on at the terrace - maybe for the CMs cleaning up

We did it last night and Love, LOVE, LOVED IT! I felt safe, no fear of my kids getting lost and relaxed the first time ever watching Wishes.

I believe the price varies depending on the time of year you book, but don't quote me on that. We did it September a couple of years ago and it was $17.50 for adults. They had a great variety of desserts and we didn't have a problem seeing anything from our table, but we were at one nearest to the railing/wall/whatever you call the partition that keeps you from falling in the water (still a few feet from it) but off to one side. People--mostly kids--did get up from the back tables to see better, but it really wasn't that crowded, so our view wasn't blocked from where we were sitting.

Since it was September, that may have been the reason it wasn't terribly crowded. I don't know how packed the party would be in peak season or near major holidays. I definitely think it was worth what I paid for it, however, and am considering doing it again this November as a surprise for my partner (he loves desserts).

We did this Easter monday this year and loved it. The desserts were wonderful and plentiful for us. They cleaned up and took the line apart as the desserts ran out - looked like a specific amount of desserts and when they were gone, they were gone... But there was enough.

There was a nice and unique photo pass opportunity (which easily was added to the prepurchase photo pass CD)

It was great to get out of the Easter crowd for a while. They turned the lights out during the show - and we were seated down front on the Terrace - no need to even go to the edge! It was great!
