dessert party questions

Hi all
I am trying to figure out some details of the illuminations dessert party. Ill be staying at the yacht club as will many of my 80 guests. I want to do the party on Friday night rather then have a welcome dinner. That way they can see the fireworks and have dessert. I have read some things over the past months on this board about the rules of getting everyone in and I just want to confirm.
If everyone meets us at the yacht club (ill be paying the viewing fee for everyone) can we all just go in the back entrance? I wont be providing transportation so Im trying to see how it would all work out.
Also how long is it? If the show starts at what 830? does it run the lenght of the show?

We are meeting our guest as the international gateway- along with a Disney escort who will take us to our dp. We are paying viewing fees up front (with a refund later if people have tickets) We are meeting at 8:15 and it lasts until 9:30.

The show starts at 9pm and runs til 9:20ish. Dessert parties are usually scheduled to start at 8:30 and end at 9:30, but you can extend them for free. If you extend the food service to more than an hour, there will be a pro rated per-person charge. But we found one hour to be plenty of time - they didn't shoo us out right at the stroke of 9:30 either!
