We'll be at FW over my birthday. I'd really like the dessert party on Bay Lake, but it's $$ and I'd rather spend that money on other things. So can you have a dessert party at your camp site? Will Disney Dining do that?

My son is also having his 10th birthday at Disney as well (we share a birthday), where should we take him to dinner?? He's had 3 other birthday parties at Disney, but never ON his birthday.

where is the dessert party on Bay Lake? The only one I've heard of it at MK.

I believe it's the Magic Kingdom Dessert Party on a boat in Bay Lake. The boat rental is 300.00 then the Dessert Party costs. The one in the Magic Kingdom is in Tomorrowland. My dh found it last night, I'll have to get a link from him.

There is a Fireworks Dessert Party at MK. You can book is online, just as you would any other dining reservations. Just so you know, they charge your credit card when you book.

The Bay Lake excursion is booked through recreation. You must call 407-WDW-PLAY. They will boom a few Wishes cruises each night. One of the add-ons is to allow snacks, drinks, desserts, etc.

Finally, anyone can order a cake from Disney Dining for a special occasion. However, I don't think you can order a dessert buffet type of experience, rather just a cake and maybe a few other items.

Has anyone done the Fireworks Dessert Party? Is there someplace online where I can find out more info?

I've not done the dessert party on the boat, but we did go to the dessert in MK last June. All of the chocolate and mini pastries you can hold:woohoo:, plus unlimited drinks. As long as you shuffled your chair to the terrace rail, you can see the fireworks (and when we were there, the Electric Light Parade!) without being bumrushed by a crowd.

As far as cost goes, to me it was worth every penny not only for the dessert and special time with my family, but also the lack of being in the crowd. I am somewhat clausterphobic, so not being in the crush was worth it.

So you get a real good view of the fireworks? I was thinking of doing this with a 4 and 7 year old.

You *can* probably order a dessert buffet experience but it would be $$$$$$$$$ for just a couple people....it would fall under special events though so a whole different thing. I'm not really sure how that would work at Ft. Wilderness. (We are doing a private one in EPCOT but it's for 15 people so not too bad divided up that way).

I was just thinking couldn't you buy some of your own desserts and take them down to the beach or is that not allowed? I thought I read you can see the Fireworks from the Ft. Wilderness beach but I've never been so could be totally off base.

I'm so happy to hear this. People are different with different expectations and I heard a few people really hated this. They said they got seats on the rail, but everyone crowded up to the rail to see the fireworks, boxing them into their table. And people got very greedy with the desserts, so much so, that the event ran-out of desserts. Maybe so many people complained or demanded their money back that Disney lowered capacity and added desserts. So glad to hear of the improvement. If you have time, can you take us through it, detail-by-detail starting from lining up to get in?
