Dessert part of CS dining plan question....

Are you able to wait on the dessert part of the credit on the dining plan if you don't want it with your meal, or do you have to order it when you place your full order??

Sorry you have to get your dessert with your meal or lose it. You can't seperate the dessert credit from the meal credit.

HOWEVER....at POP Century if you eat at their food court you can have your receipt marked to return within 90mins of check out to get an ice cream from the ice cream station.
That is the only exception.

If you order the Dole Whip for your dessert at Captain's Cook's at the Poly they give you an empty bowl that you use to go back after you finish your entree to get your Dole Whip. When we were eating lunch there last Oct some teenage boy took his used bowl back for a refill on the Dole Whip and a CM stopped him and said it was not refillable.

As PP have said you have to get it with your order unless you are at a resort. They typically will let you come back to get it. In the parks they mainly come in their own containers so it can be taken with you. Usually if I know I will not be eating it right with my meal I will get the cookie so I can take it with me to eat later.

To summarize: in order to use the dessert entitlement with your CS meal, you must order it at the time you purchase the meal. In most cases, this means getting it with your meal, but at certain locations (not in the theme parks) you may return for a frozen item within a set window, showing the receipt as proof of purchase.
