Dessert only at Plaza Restaurant

Is it frowned upon to only order dessert at the Plaza Restaurant? I seem to recall a thread about this, but can't seem to locate it now. We have a 3pm ADR and I'm considering just having decadent desserts instead of a full lunch. The dessert menu on WDW website looks more limited than what I've read that others have ordered (just milkshakes, cake and apple pie). For example, the Sundae doesn't seem to be an option on the menu, but lots of people talk about it. I've also heard about a brownie dessert that sounds delicious. Are there desserts that aren't on the menu but that can be requested? Can you order any of the ice creams that are next door in the Ice Cream Parlour?

I went last week and asked the cast member checking us in if it was okay if we just order dessert. She said "it's frowned upon but we can't stop you". We ended up just getting a cone somewhere else.

To my knowledge, you can't get the same desserts that they have at the ice cream counter. What you see on the restaurant menu are the only options, and it is more limited than what's available next door. That said, you are certainly able to do that if you still want to.

Wow! There are people that made ADR's for 8 for BOG breakfast and order one cupcake (which I personally do not agree with at all). I would have said something to a manager for sure if I had gotten that reply.

Also, we have ordered just soup and a dessert many times here. There should be no issue at all.

They only have what is on the menu. If you want sundaes, I highly suggest going to the ice cream parlor next door. The sundaes are delicious! We take ours and either eat st the tables right outside or on the tomorrowland terrace.

I'm guessing all 8 people were at the front of the line for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.....and possibly giving Disney a reason to review the pricing policy for breakfast at BoG.

I'm less bothered by folks ordering 'just dessert' at The Plaza when it is reasonable to assume that the restaurant with the same name as the to-go 'Parlor' is anything other than an ice cream shop anyway.

I would absolutely be speaking to a manager if I was told that it was "frowned upon."
