If we go at a later time in the evening, is this frowned on at all by the CMs in WDW? I just love the actual restaurant at AP but I don't want to use two dining credits to eat there as we are already going to Jiko on a four day trip. Might also do this at Kona, though then we will just be able to title this the "Dessert Trip" :rotfl:

Anyone done this and felf at all uncomfortable?

IMHO as long as you go past the main dinner hour--maybe around 9:00pm or so and tell them at the podium you are only interested in dessert and coffee, you will be welcomed. :)
