Kay last summer we came up with the idea that since we are not a family that likes a heavy breakfast we would bring a couple dozen donuts and coffee cake (fruit, milk, and juice also). We were at DLR 5 days and after day 3 we were so sick of the sweet pastries for breakfast. So, we dont want to do that again. We will be at the Fairfield Inn for 4 days this trip (Feb.11) so we will have a refrigerator and I am bringing a toaster from home (we are driving) for bagels. 1 morning is reserved for Mickey pancakes at River Belle Terrace~ a family favorite! But the other 3 mornings..not sure. It will be myself, Dbf, DD3 and DN10(niece). We dont really want to fill up on sugar in the morning b/c we will have a sweet snack in the parks after dinner or lunch.
So...what I am asking is ...what do you do for breakfast in the hotel room? Thanks a bunch for any and all suggestions!!popcorn::

Well, personally, i need to have my Cheerios every morning so I would bring cheerios and milk. I think bagels sound like a good idea and also fruit. If you'll have a micorwave there are also frozen breakfast items. I can't remember what they're called but there are some with eggs and cheese inside of a pastry shell. Actually, I think those can go in the toaster?

Hope that helps!

yogurt & granola (with nuts and dried fruit in it!), fruit, bagels are great... those little boxes of cereal and milk!

Ahh yes, Toaster Scramblers or something like that, I think they also make the Streudels which are made with real fruit. And those are toaster friendly indeed! Great idea! Milk and fruit are definitely on the grocery list. Thanks!

fruit, yogurt and granola parfiats?
instant oatmeal (just need hot water...we just use the coffee maker to get it, but most places have a source in the lobby too)
pbj on bagels?
I usually make a batch of power muffins before traveling that contain fruit, nuts, oats, and other yummy things. Keeps you full...and not too sweet.

good luck :)

Oooooh! We ALWAYS eat in our room for breakfast...

Fresh fruit - Mainly apples so we get fiber.
Instant Oatmeal - I bring plasticware, paper plates & bowls
Naked Protien Drinks - 1 bottle has about 30-32 grams!
Naked Green Drink - we get our greens in bc it's HARD to do while in the parks

This time I am also making breakfast burritos ahead of time we can microwave....black beans, scrambled eggs & turkey or chicken sausage.

Then we have our Clif & Luna bars as in-between snacks.

HTH!!

I got a small (4q) crocpot at Walmart for about $10 and i like to make overnight oatmeal in it using Steel Cut oats. I also like to make "Mommy McMuffins" using a microwave egg cooker thing I got at target. (It looks like a bra when it's closed I swear) I make the eggs in the microwave, toast the english muffins, put a slice of cheese on the HOT egg and a small slice of ham. You can make 2 at a time which is nice. If interested I can give the particulars on both

You could try those Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, breakfast hot pockets, or we made a chorrizo egg mixture and brought it in a tupperwear and made breakfast burritos! Hope that helps!

I am a diabetic and need to stick with protein in the AM. So I usually eat a micro breakfast meal that contains eggs, sausage/bacon/ potaotes(my son eats the spuds), milk, and juice to get the BS up. We pick these up prior to arriving. Sugary stuff makes me tired in the AM. The rest of the family eats BF cereal, muffs and the like.

We had breakfast "corn dogs" last week. They are pancakes wrapped around a sausage and they microwave easily. We bought them at a grocery store in Anaheim, so we didn't have to transport them. We also carry granola bars in our backpack for the kids to have a quick snack.

Wow! Thanks for all the great ideas! When Dbf and I were discussing this dilemma I realized that the answers were right at my fingertips~Dis'ers rock!!! I had not thought of luna or Clif bars, think I will add some to the back pack for those days that we are having a late lunch or dinner! I love those things!Yum! :disrocks:

Have you had the new Cliff Breakfast/Protein bars? Sooo good. They sell them anywhere they sell cliff bars but they are larger and yummy

You're very close to a McDonalds - could you send someone down to pick up some of their egg-based breakfast items?

I know this is off-topic but can you tell me how to make the Steel Cut oats in the crockpot? I got one of those small crock-pots for Christmas also - sounds like a great idea (especially since I have a bag of steel cut oats in the pantry!) Thanks!:thumbsup2

Do they even do Room Service at FFI?:confused3

Yes, they do actually...at least they did when I stayed there 2 years ago. Millie's Restaurant provides the room service. It was a pretty limited menu, but they did have room service.

Just today I ordered orange juice, butter, milk, eggs, cheese, and cereal to be delivered to my room on my arrival date...I am not really a big breakfast person, but I know how annoying my DD can be if she doesn't have breakfast, lunch, and dinner....

Yes we did consider that we will be walking by the McD's on the way to the park and could also stop in and grab a bite before entering the parks..its kinda heavy/greasy for my bunch, but is definitely a good option to have.:)
