Desperately seeking Combi Twin, but ...

We borrowed a Combi Twin for our last WDW visit and how I WISH we had bought it instead. It was the perfect stroller for the parks, SO light-weight and easy to manage.

Now we're going back (2/27) and can't find a Combi Twin anywhere. I don't want to buy one brand-new because my kids are 3 and 6 -- we'd have no other use for it beyond this one week. I don't think Orlando Stroller Rentals has them.

I do wonder if my just-turned-6-year old will be too big for it -- he's about 48 pounds, and the 3-year old is about 38. I remember us pushing the Combi through the airport last time though, completely loaded with ALL of our luggage plus a toddler perched on top, so I know it can take some weight.

I've been stalking Craigslist here (north of Boston) for a while and I'm not having much luck. Is there another similar stroller I should be looking for in addition to the Combi, something else that would work for older/bigger kids but that's still easy to push and fold? The weight really matters -- I hated our old Joovy sit-and-stand because it weighed a ton and was so hard to push around. I wouldn't take it to the mall, let alone the parks!

Sigh!

Well I'm glad you liked it there because we recently bought a used Combi Twin Savvy on craigslist. :) You're right, though, they are hard to come by used... I had only searched for a week or so when we saw this one, and the price was good so we bought it, but I'm crazy and kept checking Craiglist for awhile after to make sure we got a good deal - we did. :) We were also looking for Maclaren twins, but they are pricier and since we just wanted a stroller for WDW, we didn't need to spend much - Combi was the one we found for the best deal, so that's what we went with. Definitely keep checking, though, maybe people clear stuff out of their house when they get new Christmas gifts and need more space? I hope you find one!

(oh, and we have Joovy Ultralight and love it for the malls, but it's not great for long walking because it's tougher to manuever, but it weighs less than our single did so I appreciate that :))

You could rent the Baby Jogger City Mini from Orlando Stroller Rentals which is an awesome double stroller for bigger kids. Lightweight, easy to push even with bigger kids (my 5yr old and 3yr old are a combined 90lbs and still easy to push), awesome sun canopy and an easy peasy fold.

I've tried to push my bigger kids in our Maclaren when we're outside and it gets real tiring real fast so I honestly would go for something like the BJ stroller as it's just so much easier on you. Nothing like getting out of breath pushing weary kids to put a damper on mom's vacation!

I would also look on E-bay. I have bought several strollers off of there.
