Ok, I ruined DD5's autographed t-shirt with all the princesses on it. Even though it was signed with permanent markers, it ran all over and got ruined in the wash. I found a great t-shirt design with autograph on the DISign board. So, how to I get it to the right place on my computer to "flip" it, to print it on transfer paper? I saved it to "My Documents"; I keep looking under print and page setup and can't find anything to make a mirror image. I am not a computer whiz, but this is making me feel really stupid. Somebody please help me! ( I will need the remedial version.. :) )

I assume you saved it as a picture?
If so, paste it into a word document.
Turn on your drawing toolbar.
Go to rotate.
Select flip horizontal.

That should do it.

When you select print does it just print or does it open up a settings menu?

If I go under "File" and select print--it shows which printer is selected, the page range and number of copies. page setup just shows headers, footers, margins and paper size.
I went under preferences, but it didn't have anything there for mirror image either.

Well, now that I look at it, it is saved as an HTML document. There weren't options under the photobucket picture like a jpeg number. I am going to learn how to do this if it kills me. :badpc:

After you go to file and print, do you have a choice of "print settings". On mine which is an Epson I have print settings and it asks what kind of paper I'm using and if it should be photo quality, etc. If I choose advanced settings it will highlight mirror image. I just check that and it will flip it.

Now did you also know that they make transfer paper that does not have to be flipped. Reread your instructions to make sure you need to flip it.

I only show the print settings I mentioned above--when I go to advanced and then properties, I can select paper type, etc. but nothing is there about mirror image. I have a Brother printer, copier, fax combo and I even looked in that book, but no dice.

And lucky me, the transfer paper has to be flipped.

What is the model number? I'm determined to help you!

You are so nice! :) Now I feel bad that I gave up and went to bed last night! I was afraid I was keeping you all up with my ignorance! The printer is a Brother MFC-240C. I did call my best friend last night and she's supposed to come by today to try to help, too! I actually dreamed all night about being on the computer trying to flip a picture and that was no fun!

Ok i found some manuals online but without sitting in front of your computer I can guide you but not really help KWIM?
I'm sending 2 links the first is a pdf of the software user guide go to page 16 and then read backwards to figure out where all the right buttons are. Sorry I use a mac so the windows applications don't tell me anything. But it does say mirror image.

http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/files/dlf/doc002084/BH7_UsaEngSoft_A.pdf

if that doesn't work this is the second link. it opens to the brother website. Click on software user guide and then english and then search it should bring you to the pdf manual.

Let me know what happens.

Can you give us the website where you found the picture? Maybe we can see if we can get it saved as a picture instead of a document.

My old printer had the option for mirror printing, my new one doesn't. Very frustrating!

It's one done by triplefigs here on the DISign board--princess aurora with autograph. Here is her new link to her designs:

Maybe this printer doesn't do mirror image-I'm beginning to wonder. I read through almost the whole manual from the link a couple of posts up and googled everything in the world with no luck. I have to say, you guys are just great trying to help me like this! I was almost ready to give up and go look for Disney crocs on Ebay!

I tested the link I typed above and it won't take you to the page from here--don't know why. I checked to make sure everything is correct and it is, but it says page not available. You'll have to go to DISign board, then sticky Design Gallery, then triplefigs designs and it works from there. Sorry!

It's not the printer that flips the image. It is the software that you are using to print it. What software do you have the picture opened up in that you are trying to print it from?

I flipped the design I think you wanted and saved it again as a jpeg and posted it back here for you. This is what I did to flip it.

I inserted a picture in Microsoft Word (Insert, Picture, From File)
Then I turned on the drawing toolbar (View, Toolbars, Drawing)
Make sure you have the image selected (just click on it once somewhere)
From the drawing toolbar which displays at the bottom of the screen, I clicked the Draw button on the far left of the toolbar. Then selected Rotate or Flip and Flip Horizontal.
After this is done, you can print it just like you normally would.

Hope this helps.

THANK YOU from the bottom of my computer-illiterate heart!!!!! I just printed the image off onto the transfer paper and it was perfect. I have saved your instructions for future use and will practice, practice, practice! Computers are the only thing my brain does not seem to comprehend, even back in college (20 years ago, lol); it is very frustrating to me because I know I have to keep up with current technology but it feels like a never ending battle! I really want to learn to do more creative stuff on the computer so we can have custom t-shirts for the next Disney trip--thanks to all you creative DISers for sharing your knowledge!
