Designing a Vest - Can Transfers be used on Fleece? Updated: It worked!!

Has anyone used transfers on a vest? If so, where did you get the plain colored vest and what kind of fabric was it?

I'm wanting to do this for an upcoming trip!

I am making a vest for our upcoming trip. I have incorporated the fabric sheets that you print through the inkjet printer with other disney fabrics in a crazy patchwork design. Its looking good so far.

I bought a vest for a Pin DISign (holy grails on the back) and all of my trader pins on the front. I didn't want to pay the fortune people were paying for pin vests, so I bought a waiter's vest (red) for $15 or $20. I forget wear, I did a google search for waiter's vest. I used MICKEY's/Amy's iron on and it came out great. I get so many positive comments at the pin trading events or at WDW. Penny

The only thing I've been able to find so far for a heavier vest are the fleece ones. Can those be used with the transfer sheets from Amy Mickey, or do they have to be used on a smoother surface, like T-shirt or sweatshirt material?

So, does anyone know if you can use a transfer on a microfleece material, or is this a no-no? I have a fleece vest I would like to use which doesn't have a really fuzzy surface.

I ironed one of Amy Mickey's transfers on to two fleece items: A micro-fleece vest and a fuzzier fleece (unlined) jacket. Both turned out great!!! Images are very clear and, so far, are adhering! The images are smaller ones that I put on the upper left front to the left of the zippers. Even it they don't stay on forever, they surely will at least for this trip!

ETA: Meant to add that since the fleece was a poly blend on one and poly on the other that I used a wool setting on the iron and ironed for 3 minutes (instead of on high for half that time).
