So often we hear about how Epcot's World Showcase needs more rides and shows (or a new country).

Well, I thought it would be fun to see what DISers came up with!

Design a ride and tell us about it- roller coaster, dark ride, spinning ride, show, whatever you like- with whatever theming you like for one of the WS countries!

The country is Tahiti.

The theme is tropical island. Palm trees, drinks sold in coconuts, maybe a sandy beach area.

The ride will be a dark ride, similar in design to MK's Peter Pan, only flying over the Island of Tahiti instead of London and Never Never Land.

It's not really designing a new ride, but a Swiss pavillion would be cool. Just think...chocolate, a really great watch shop, and the Matterhorn from DL!

The Matterhorn was always my favorite ride at DL when I was a kid...I would love to see it at WDW!

Somebody in an earlier thread suggested building a chunnel between the England and France pavilions :teeth:

I love all these ideas!

Being an English teacher, I always imagine bringing one of the English epics alive. I considered Beowulf, but I can't figure out how to make it less scary. All the knighthood/courtly love age works go along with Fantasyland, so that's out. I'll keep thinking.

And I love the chunnel- sort of the anti-skyway, lol.

A ride for Italy. You take a gondala around Italy and you go to Rome and other places.

Not a ride but I've always thought the UK needs something else. I've often thought about replicas of the Crown Jewels just like at The Tower of London.

I would vote for that one.

I'd also love to see a Greece pavilion with a ride similar to the Maelstrom; but maybe in this one, you take a ride on the back of a chariot through greek ruins like the Acropolis, coming across mythological greek characters and creatures (hydra, medusa, hercules, zeus, etc.).

The Italian ride should be some sort of 3 D tour of my family's house in Italy. With all the crazy Italian "speak" smells, and totally crazy ness of my family. The ride usually ends with my uncle getting too drunk and someone getting mad and storming out.. :lmao:

For those really crowded nights after Illuminatons, after we leave the Rose and Crown in England, we could go to France and ride "Retreat", an extremely rapid one way journey leading straight to the parking lot. :thumbsup2

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

You guys are too funny! (and witty to boot!) Thanks for a great laugh!

I think the UK Pavilion could use something like a smaller version of the London Eye so you could get a nice view of all the World Showcase and Epcot and beyond!

Not sure where they would put it though... :lmao:

Can I just point out that Epcot actually has a UK pavillion and it's not just England. UK = 4 countries, not just one. Just a pet peeve of mine

Anyway.. I loved the Italy idea.

As someone with Scot, Irish and Welsh blood (but no a drop o brit) ancestry, I apologize and should be a bit embarrased by my calling the UK merely England. My sincerest, sincerely. :)

My twisted mind is envisioning something for the UK or France pavilions...with a "wives of Henry VIII" or French Revolution theme...call it Voyage to the Headsman/Guillotine if you will...at the very end you manage to avoid it...

(believe me, I am SO joking... :) )

China, you get on what looks like those carts that pull you around but they would be on a track like Haunted Mansion. You go past places like the great wall, the tomb with all those statues and some other things.

Italy: You get on a replica of a Vespa and ride through the streets of Rome. It would be sort of like Buzz Lightyear, but instead of Zurg you would have other tourists. :rotfl:

American Pavilion: Soaring over the U.S.A. :thumbsup2

United Kingdom: a taxi ride through History with stops in: Rome arrives, the Invasion of the Vikings, the Norman Conquest, Fight against the Spanish Armada, and Battle of Britton. Each one interspersed with scenes of normal briish life leading up to the events.
