Has anyone ever stayed at the Desert Inn and Suites? We were wondering how the rooms were. We were interested in getting the 3 room family suite. There will be 7 adults and 3 kids in October . Thanks for your input :)

We stayed in the 2 room Family Suite last May with 3 adults and 3 children.

The room was neat, tidy and spacious. It was a little cramped on one side with a cot set up for the baby, but otherwise okay.

The rooms are nothing fabulous, but since all we did was sleep and shower there they were great. And it's soooo close to DL :-)

Staff were helpful too. They looked after our suitcases on the day we checked out (late flight out and they didn't fit into the lockers).

Even the biggest suite might be too small for 7 adults and 3 kids. We stayed in the biggest suite with 4 adults and 1 baby. It was perfect for us and it would have still been good with another 2 kids.

But 7 adults may be too much for 4 queens and 1 pull out. I would think about maybe getting 2 suites in your situation. Or even a suite and an extra room

P.S. The "third" room is REALLY tiny and after you pull out the sofa bed there is barely any room to move around.

We stayed there last year, very happy with our decision and will be staying there again this year. Here are some pictures from the Parlor A Suite

I would suggest a C-1 or C-2 family suite. it has 4 Q and 2 baths. The second room is quite large and I would pull the mattress off the sofa bed and throw it on the floor in the larger room, to save space, and to be able to get out the door instead of having the sofa bed block it. Now a B family suite is 2 delux rooms with a door. This would mean 2 FULL baths and 2 doors.

We stayed there in October 2006 and plan to stay there again this May for our trip. The rooms are always clean, friendly staff and easy walk. The free breakfast isn't a wonderful buffet, but it is enough for my kids and husband. We would rather have a close walk and view, than a great breakfast. I have recommended the suites to many family members and all have stayed there and will do again.:) :cutie:

I stayed in the large suite as well this past February and was very happy with it. We had 6 of us and it was quite spacious. And after having a very BAD experience with the Del Sol next door and NO towels or toilet paper I am happy to say that at the Desert Inn we always had plenty of fresh towels and paper every single day and nice little welcome packets with gum and face wash and tooth paste. It was very nice. They have a limited continental breakfast and you can't beat the location! I think it is the perfect place!

We have stayed a couple of times in the large suite I think you're talking about, but it has been a few years. There is just one in the hotel, and it is located right above the lobby. When we were there, it was a large room with a king bed, full bath, and two sofa beds. Then you walked thru a door to another room with two queens and another full bath. There was tons of space, and as long as you have people who don't mind sleeping of a sofa bed, you should be fine.

And the sofa bed is right near the Front Door. Which was fine for our 21 year old Dd. But may not be for curious little ones.
