We returned from our DL trip last week and stayed at the Desert Inn and Suites in a Parlor A Suite. I thought I would pass along my comments.

The room wasn't ready when we got there at about 11:30am but check in wasn't until 3pm.

Overall we were very pleased with our stay. It was very clean and very close to the park. It will be our hotel/motel of choice from now on. It had a continental breakfast that included: milk, coffee, OJ, corn flakes, cherrios, toast, pastries and a fruit (either apples or oranges).

Our room: had 2 queen beds and a TV in one room and then there was a "front room" with a fold out couch and dresser and tv. With the couch folded out the whole room was pretty much taken up. We also had a portacrib in that room and with both you couldn't even open the door. So the front room was small but fit our needs. The bathroom area was very small but the shower and toilet were in a separate room so one person could be using the sink and getting ready and another could be showering with some privacy.

Here are a couple of pictures of our room:

We just got back from Desert Inn and Suites last Saturday and stayed in an A parlor suite. We were on the 5th floor where were you? Were your beds hard as ROCKS too??

No we havent been yet going in may 2008. With my family of 2 adults and 4 kids. The room was just the right price for the 6 of us. And from your photos the room looks just fine

We stayed there last year. It was fine, but basic. The breakfast buffet was similar. It was quite busy when we were there, and i have to say the guests didn't really add anything tothe ambiance at breakfast....there was quite a feeding frenzy going on, not helped by the (very) small paper plates that people were piling up with food! Howver, the price and location are good, and the pool was small but fine.

I have not stayed here since 2001 so I am glad to see they have remodeled since then. We are staying in a C suite I think. The one that is basically two rooms together. (4 beds 2 baths). We stayed nextdoor at the Del Sol twice and it doesn't appear this hotel has an elevator. Am I right in assuming we are going to have to lug our luggage up all those stairs? I have a feeling we are going to get the very top floor and the very BACK room when we stay in February. Is this true? At least the room looks ok. It has to be better than the Del Sol where we stayed last time.

The rooms itself was ok but they stole my cell phone charger (don't ask me why as it was NO use to them) and they never gave us enough towels.

I hope we have better luck with DI.

We were in 428. Our beds were REALLY comfortable, not home but we slept well.

I also forgot to mention that 4 out of the 5 mornings I took a shower when the rest of the people in the hotel were also taking a shower and the water pressure was terrible. I mean terrible, barely enough water to get me wet.

There is an elevator in the middle of the hotel so no matter where you are your room isn't too far away.

My family has stayed there a few times and have never had any problems.

We just returned from a 4 night stay at the Desert Inn and Suites and I'd like to 2nd the review. This hotel is great - great location, great layout, great price. We too had a parlor A suite and the photos are right on. The living room IS small but adequate.

We used their crib and it was much better than a pack-n-play. It's a small, metal crib and is bigger than a PNP and has a much thicker mattress. We did use our own crib quilt to make it softer though. They also charge $6 per day for the crib, FYI.

We did not eat the breakfast because we had bought stuff based on previous reviews, although in hind sight, their breakfast would have been totally adquate.

You can't beat this location. 5 minute walk to the tunstiles. This was an essential piece to our trip as our 21 month old DS needed to nap every afternoon and the hotel made it a breeze to do this.

The front desk was very courteous and had a cab waiting for our return trip just as we had asked. Our room was ready at our 2:30 check in.

All in all, definitely not a luxury hotel but a good bet.

We just got back from the Desert Inn & Suites on the 15th. We had a "B" suite, or maybe it was a "C" - the one w/2 queen beds on each side, 2 bathrooms & a living area. My daughter slept on the pull out couch - so we all got our own bed!

Not one problem w/hot water, but the water pressure was a bit much for our 7 year old. All employee's were very helpful with everything. The front desk even sold laundry detergent for $.75 where there little store sold it for $1. (beating their own store!) Gave us change when needed, etc.
We only used the pool 1 night (as we were too busy at the parks the rest of the week), the pool water was cold (they say heated???) and the hot tub seemed to have a lot of sudsy bubble - which made me look at it funny, but I still got in. I was then told by another family staying there (as we are on the elevator leaving the pool) : "hope you didn't use the hot tub - we had to go & get management earlier today as we found some "floaties" in there". Well I was soooooooooo grossed out that I scrubbed me & my daughter for the longest time in the shower after:rotfl: I think I was red for hours!:lmao:
But not the hotels fault (as long as they used the proper chemicals to clean it out).

Really liked the hotel, loved how close it was to DL & the indoor pool for a December vacation. Would recommend to anyone!

But don't eat at Captain Kidds 2 doors down. It was the most aweful food - not even eadible! I know we went at 3pm (in the middle of the day), but a kids place & buffet - you choose what you want......There was nothing to choose. They had orange lights, so you couldn't even tell what the food was & it had to be sitting out for hours & hours. And there was chicken, but only dark meat. If you wanted white meat you had to order it & pay for it extra. Never heard of such a thing. Beware!!
