I'll be checking into the Desert Inn and Suites tomorrow night. I've read on this board about people at different hotels being able to see the fireworks from their rooms.

Any advice on which room I should request to get a good view of the fireworks?I'm planning to call today (which might be too late).

Thanks!
Bill

Bill I have no idea, but if you are lucky enough to find out and get one, I'd love to know. We're going there next year :)

We were on the top floor (5th I think) of the main building (closer to Harbor).
We were totally able to see the fireworks. There is also a rooftop viewing area that you can get to from the 5th floor. SO I would request:
Top Floor
Closer to Harbor

Many of the hotels on Harbor have rooftop decks for fireworks viewing.

We have stayed at Hojo many times. We only stayed in the theme park view rooms once. There are several trees blocking the view, you usually don't get a clear shot.

We usually just walk to the parking lot. Incredible view there!

Desert Inn's view isn't too bad, but it is not as close as Hojo.

Because the hotel is long and narrow, most of the rooms face the same way. You'll be able to see the fireworks from most any room since the windows face that part of DL, but higher up would be better. It also depends on the room type you reserved. In my experience, the larger suites are more towards the back of the hotel, while the smaller parlor suites are closer to the front. In the back of the hotel, there's a little square area where all the doors face inward and only one side would have a view of the fireworks. We were given a room back there when we had 2 queens (not a suite). As you're facing that part of the hotel, the rooms on the right side would have no view of the fireworks. You can always stand on the sidewalk in front of the hotel, or use the 5th floor deck if you get a room with a crummy view.

Last year I brought home their map of where the rooms are. If anyone wants me to scan it and email it to them just PM me.
(I have a 4 month old so I can't guarantee how fast I'll get it done, but I will get it done!)
