What can we expect in terms of the "lively atomosphere" Thanks for your info!

We went to dinner there in late September

It's not a quiet restaurant but it's not too loud

Our waitress threw a bunch of straws and napkins on the table as a way of greeting us. We all laughed.

There's a kids stick pony ride that takes place periodically around the restaurant - it was lots of fun

We didn't ask for ketchup so I'm not 100% sure on how that works but we did watch tables of people transporting it around the restaurant.

That was pretty much all of the action we got at our table. However to be fair something (I think it was the shakes) upset my dd's tummy so we spent a fair amount of time in the restroom and she didn't eat much so we might have missed some action

Make sure someone asks for Ketchup! Let a child ask if there is one in your party.

Ugh... never again. The food was EXCELLENT, but we did not enjoy our time at "Whispering Canyon." Our family is all about having fun, but it was just too much for us. Very loud and chaos constantly. The continual yelling back and forth across the restaurant and the heaps of ketchup being carted between tables absolutely grated on my nerves. Perhaps if we had done lunch instead of trying dinner after a very long, tiring day we would have been more in the mood for the atmosphere.

I looovvvveee Disney, and LOVED staying at the Wilderness Lodge, but "Whispering Canyon" won't make it to my ADR list again.

We went once and never again. Horrible service, horrible food (DH was sick all night after eating the meat in the skillet and I thought the food was bland and disgusting). We were stuck in the backroom even though there were plenty of tables in the front room and we asked if we could sit there and were told rudely by the Host that it was for families only. Yeah, whatever. It didn't make a difference anyway...because for the two long hours we were there we heard none of the antics that everyone raves about on the DIS.

Well it is always a little scary when you get ixed reviews. I guess we will have to go and see for ouraseleves what kind of experience we have. At least the lively part sounds fun and that is what I wanted to know more about. I am glad we are going on our first night so we won't be tired out from a long day at a park - just ready to get into the Disney spirit after a day of travel! Thanks for the info everyone!

Don't be at all afraid of going here. We always have a great time and have had terrific service. The food is good, nothing great, but the activity in the room is fun. Yes, very noisy but you are not expecting a fine dining experience. If your kids have a good sense of humor, they will love it!

You should note that things have changed in the last eighteen months or so. Very toned down in terms of interaction and teasing.

We were there this past February and it was very loud and rowdy. There was a table they had brought a football and it was getting passed around the restaurant! I was actually surprised that the staff didn't stop this. I was really afraid someone was going to hit a light fixture!

We were there a year ago and loved it.

NO - do not go after a long day in the park if everyone is grumpy. It will not be fun at all.

Make sure you are ok with the teasing and that the kids can handle it.

They gave my DH a huge glass of Coke and we did have to make a ketchup run.

It was a blast, we liked our food and we are going back in Jan.

When we were there many years ago, our youngest daughter kept getting up and wouldn't finish her meal so the waiter used the cloth napkins and tied her to her chair. A good time was had by all.

Its Hoop Dee Do Revue without the stage show. Its a fun place to eat

Very noisy after a long day in the park, were to tired to appreciate it, not for our family.
