How deep are the kids pools on the Magic? My daughter usually uses a float vest in the pool and I'd like to know if she'll need it on board.

I've never cruised, but my guide says Goofy's family pool is 48" and Mickey's kid pool is 18" with the wading pool parts of his ears being 11".

Those depths sound about right to me. I am not sure they even will allow flotation devices in the pools. I can't remember seeing any. The pools are so small they would take up a lot of room.

DD4 and DD3 were playing in the Mickey Pool. They were not too sure footed in the pool so I watched them closely. DD4 fell face first into the water and it seemed like she was taking a long time to get back on her feet. Mom to the rescue! I jumped fully clothed into the pool to put her upright.

Just got off the 9/27 Magic and my 5 year old son is just learning to swim. He used his arm floaties about half the time. Since they were Mickey Mouse floaties, maybe they were making an exception for him, but I don't think so.

The Goofy pool is 4' deep. Not sure about Mickey Pool because I didn't get in it!

The small arm float things would probably be ok but there is simply no room for anything bigger in the pool. They are shallow and usually pretty full with kids.

Thanks for the info. The float vest is just a small vest that slides right over her swimsuit. It has several foam inserts about 1/4" thick each. It doesn't take up any more room than she does.

I guess we'll see which pool she wants to be in!
