Does anyone know where I can find some information about old Dept 56 Christmas pieces? I just got back from our local Goodwill store and I picked up a bunch of pieces (not houses) that were all in one box. I about died when I saw the price tag was $1.99!

The pieces are divided by sets in small separate boxes. Some of these small boxes have gift tags from Marshall Fields dated 1977.

I tried searching ebay but I'm not finding these particular pieces.

I don't know about how much they're worth, but my mom had a nice snowglobe from them with Scrooge and Tiny Tim that was broken a few years ago. I've been looking for it ever since and did see it on ebay once for about $30? I didn't win the auction though.

so wierd!
I posted this on another thread, I picked up a Dept 56 piece TODAY at Goodwill, Ferraros bakery, new in box for 3.99!!! I collect,m though not this series, thinking I might throw it on craigslist......:confused3 or just keep it, too cute and actually very detailed!!

That's weird. You're not in IL are you?

They had just wheeled the cart out with this box on it. I'm sure that whoever donated this also donated other pieces but I didn't have the time to wait around and see if they brought any more out.

I also picked up 3 metal wall racks to hold shoes (27 pairs all together). The weird thing is that I just told DH that we needed something like this for our closet. I was searching online earlier today and couldn't find anything even at IKEA but they had exactly what I was looking for at Goodwill for $2.99! :lmao:
